Maybe it’s time to stop drinking the koolaid.
What if the type of people who made the company successful are leaving and the type of people who have no track record become interested?
More generally, it seems like the recipe of this breed of substack author is to take a basic object level opinion e.g. "I don’t like pronoun people" or "AI people are dumb" and turn it a whole pseudo intellectual rant without ever getting to the point.
What’s the end goal? What are we trying to achieve here?
(Doctors won’t ever be out of a job because of AI because they’ll always get a fat paycheck even just to look at the output spat out by the machine.)
They didn’t out of misplaced hubris and elitism ("just be the best 10x engineer ever and you’ll be safe").
Now they have less than 10 years before their wages start crashing hard.
How lost in life do you have to be to start valuing things like that.
I, as an individual, do not care about your SaaS scale. I’m sorry, it literally isn’t weighted at all in my utility function.
Actually, the prime objective of the industry is to create surplus value for the capitalist ruling class.
The second software engineer becomes replaceable by AI they’re all gone.
At 30 you’re well into your professional career.
