hboon··on Zed is our office
JetBrains products has Claude Code integration. Is it worse?

I still use Claude Code in cli, as a WebStorm user.

hboon··on Cerebras Code now supports GLM 4.6 at 1000 tokens/sec
The Pro and Max plans for z.ai+GLM provides an MCP that does image.
hboon··on Ruby and Its Neighbors: Smalltalk
In several implementations you can strip the image down (to remove the dev tools, etc). And some let you ship as single file executables
hboon··on Unix philosophy and filesystem access makes Claude Code amazing
How does Claude Code use the browser in your script/tool? I've always wanted to control my existing Safari session windows rather than a Chrome or a separate/new Chrome instance.
hboon··on Claude Code 2.0
I didn’t check, but sometimes Claude Code writes scripts and run them (their decision); does your approach guard against that?
hboon··on Show HN: Verdent – AI coding agent that plans, tests, and ships
I normally just use CLIs and a single Markdown file but I found Verdent useful as it helps to have a central place to refer back to the chats and coding tasks.
hboon··on Slow social media
Facebook just mostly show me ads now. I don’t have many friends active on it anymore. I did find out a few years ago that a coworker has passed away though. It’s really useful, pity there isn’t a similar viable alternative
hboon··on Slow social media
Ah. Kind of "decentralized" in a sense. Thanks.
hboon··on Slow social media
What are people using now instead of Facebook (for broastcast and interaction with friends/family)?

Chat groups in WhatsApp, Signal, Telegram etc fulfills part of it but that's only a subset since people in one chat groups know each other to a certain degree.

hboon··on ReMarkable Paper Pro Move
I think it's more like it's like reMarkable Paper Pro but smaller.

The difference being the reMarkable Paper Pro not only has color + reading light on top of reMarkable 2, the writing experience as well as the stylus are different from the reMarkable 2.

hboon··on ReMarkable Paper Pro Move
Thanks.
hboon··on ReMarkable Paper Pro Move
Do you know if you are on a grandfathered plan (I am too) and you get an additional device, does the new device need another subscription? Or is the plan tied to the account/login?
hboon··on I tried every todo app and ended up with a .txt file
I used a wip.md for ~16 years. Every day, I move the done items to a new file with yesterday's date.
hboon··on The Useless UseCallback
I use Vue (and had use React for a while) and Vue is much more intuitive to me.
hboon··on Anthropic tightens usage limits for Claude Code without telling users
Yes. That kind of reaction I quoted is telling.
hboon··on Anthropic tightens usage limits for Claude Code without telling users
> One user, who asked not to be identified, said it has been impossible to advance his project since the usage limits came into effect. “It just stopped the ability to make progress,” the user told TechCrunch. “I tried Gemini and Kimi, but there’s really nothing else that’s competitive with the capability set of Claude Code right now.”

PMF.

hboon··on Switching to Claude Code and VSCode Inside Docker
Not the OP, but I have this fish alias. I just run `claude-docker` in my project root (where I would otherwise run `claude`). There's nothing to it. You can tweak it:

    alias claude-docker='docker run --mount type=bind,source=/Users/hboon/.claude,target=/home/node/.claude --mount type=bind,source=/Users/hboon/.claude.json,target=/home/node/.claude.json --mount type=bind,source=.,target=/workspace/project --workdir /workspace/project -it cc /usr/bin/fish'
hboon··on The Two Towers MUD
Yeah, it was great (thanks Lasher!) but a major time sink.
hboon··on The Two Towers MUD
Hello! Lasher's here too https://news.ycombinator.com/threads?id=Lasher
hboon··on The Two Towers MUD
I played for 1000+ hours on https://www.aardwolf.com more than 20 years ago. Looks right it's still being updated.
hboon··on I scanned all of GitHub's "oops commits" for leaked secrets
There are already people scanning git repos for Bitcoin/Ethereum/crypto keys and exploiting them immediately.
hboon··on Ask HN: What Are You Working On? (June 2025)
I'm bootstrapping a [Bluesky analytics, Bluesky+X+Mastodon post scheduling tool called TheBlue.social](https://theblue.social)

But working on it for past 7 months. It's running and I'm tweak/adding features while marketing it.

hboon··on Ask HN: What Happened to the Apple Vision Pro?
I bought it to use for its Mac Virtual Display functionality and it was OK, then it released the ultrawide option and it was wonderful. Still use it almost daily.

> I've never had the chance to try one

Definitely book a demo even if you decided you are not going to get one.

hboon··on Claude Code is now available to Pro plans
If/once you get Claude Code to work for you, there's really no good reason not to get the Claude Max.
hboon··on Claude Code is now available to Pro plans
/login didn't help?
hboon··on Dotfiles/.claude/Claude.md
The custom commands could be useful too.
hboon··on LLM codegen go brrr – Parallelization with Git worktrees and tmux
Can I say it's just for disk (and perhaps speed when pulling/pushing) optimisation? But as long as that's not a bottleneck, there is no difference?

(because git clone is much cleaner and feels less risky especially with agents)

hboon··on LLM codegen go brrr – Parallelization with Git worktrees and tmux
I run 2 "developers" and myself. Also with tmux, in 3 windows, but I just clone the repo for the 2 developers and then manually pull into my copy when I think it's done. I see various people/sites mentioning git worktrees. I know what it is, but how is it better?
hboon··on LLM codegen go brrr – Parallelization with Git worktrees and tmux
Coincidentally, I just posted this[1] earlier today where I made a simple change against a 210 LOC vs 1379 LOC file, comparing parameters: LOC, filename vs URL path for that webpage, playwright verification.

My question is how does the author get things done with $0.10 ? My simple example with the smaller file is $2 each.

hboon··on Ask HN: What are you working on? (May 2025)
I have been building a Bluesky+X cross-posting tool with Bluesky analytics — https://theblue.social for the last few months. 2nd time I've gone full indie in 30 years.
