harunurhan··on Show HN: Frappe Charts – GitHub inspired JavaScript charting with zero dependencies
In that case, I wouldn't. But I believe that it will happen eventually, this is not a 10lines project, has many lines of code and since it's new, I expect a lot to be changed. Then those changes are going to break features.
harunurhan··on Show HN: Frappe Charts – GitHub inspired JavaScript charting with zero dependencies
So I should wait until stuff starts breaking, then start complaining.
harunurhan··on Show HN: Frappe Charts – GitHub inspired JavaScript charting with zero dependencies
Looks nice, 0 dependency, simple design but there is one issue...

I see that you don't have a single unit test or integration or functional etc.

Even if your in house developers know what they are doing (which is a myth, stuff will break) it's going to be difficult accept contributions from community without any tests that make (almost) sure existing features are working with the changes.

harunurhan··on When Does Point-Free Notation Make Code More Readable?
I disagree, I don't know may be it's a preference thing but I think the code with points is readable for me and doesn't require to write extra function, class etc.
harunurhan··on MongoDB has filed to go public
> Can I just feed it a JSON object that represents a query and it will "work"?

You can use a query builder [1][2], although it's not exactly create a JSON object for a query but still better than directly writing SQLs and IMHO it's more clean than JSON object queries.

harunurhan··on Turkey referendum: Erdogan camp set to win after most votes counted
I think it's better to wait a little bit and see what happens, because there is still controversial things (such as unsealed votes being counted) going on which is usual after every election in Turkey, but who knows.
harunurhan··on Jaspy – A Python VM written in JavaScript
But why?
harunurhan··on Effeckt.css – Performant CSS transitions and animations
Most of them are not really smooth (Chrome 49 on Macbook)
harunurhan··on Ask HN: Who is hiring? (March 2016)
Hi, I like the fact that you do tons of open source contributions. So as current student, I'd like to ask if are hiring or planning to hire any interns/new grads?
harunurhan··on DuckDuckGo ES6 Cheatsheet
Wow, cool feature from DuckDuckGo, it seems to be working well. If you want more detailed cheatsheet for ES6 https://github.com/DrkSephy/es6-cheatsheet is a good one, I believe.
harunurhan··on Swifton: Ruby on Rails-inspired web framework for Swift
Now I think swift has enough web frameworks and somebody should build an ORM.
harunurhan··on Trails – Modern MVC Web Framework for Node.js
I think because it runs on Node 4, written in ES6, uses Koa by default instead of Express
harunurhan··on Trails – Modern MVC Web Framework for Node.js
I like how you differentiate from Sails such as ES6, and also the fact that you are much more community oriented. Although I am not a JS fan for backend, I will give it a try next time instead of using Sails.
harunurhan··on Kinto – open-source alternative to Firebase and Parse
I agree with you, but I think SDKs for at least Android and iOS will be available very soon.
harunurhan··on Ask HN: Where is it OK on the Net to say “I'm a developer looking for work?”
Addition to others http://remoteok.io/ is good for remote jobs.
harunurhan··on Performance Comparison Between ArangoDB, MongoDB, Neo4j and OrientDB
Are you sure that you optimized/tuned Neo4j or MongoDB as much as you did with ArangoDB?

Also, I don't like when a company posts a comparison between its product and others. Although some of them are arguably informative and objective, I consider these posts as marketing/ad posts.

harunurhan··on Show HN: Calc, a simple command-line calulator in C
Several months ago, I was looking for something like this. Then I started using bc but wasn't enough for me then I thought why not Python? It has tons of math and statistics libraries/functions and easier than shell script with bc.

So I started using Python by simply typing Python and do my stuff. It is fast enough and super productive.

harunurhan··on Anko – Pleasant Android development in Kotlin
I think a detailed performance comparison should be provided to be more transparent and to make developers start using Anko. I mean I want to see how it differs in terms of app opening time, apk size, loading another view in app time etc.
harunurhan··on Ask HN: Do you still purchase physical books?
I don't always read book but when I do, I always prefer e-book. Because It's low cost, eco-friendly, easy to take notes and search them, easy to carry etc.
harunurhan··on Microsoft Launches Visual Studio Code, a Free Cross-Platform Code Editor
May be I am missing something, but I could not see anything about IntelliSense for Node. I tried exactly what they showed at the conference.

harunurhan··on Ask HN: What I should do with my life?
I am just like you, expect I am little youger and have a little more than a year to finish my degree. Although I am a student, I work as part time developer. Learning new things and working on different projects are so exciting for me and I get bored quickly, if there is no challenge.

So my plan is working at startups which located different countries and cities, for short time periods. Learning, working, traveling at the same time, looks like the least boring option.

Do you accept interns who are not US citizen ?
harunurhan··on Messaging apps shouldn't make money – Pavel Durov and Telegram
Telegram is a great messaging apps. Private, desktop and web support, fast, better UI compared to WhatsApp. The problem is my friend don't know it so I have to be stuck with WhatsApp for now.
harunurhan··on Nuclide: An open-source IDE for React Native
I agree, I wish Sublime was an open-source editor so that custom editors can be built on top of it.

harunurhan··on Calaos: Open Source Home Automation
I think the world will need an open source home automation. That's why, I've started to build something like this, Since I am a student and also a part time developer, I could only managed to build a prototype server app that runs on any JVM supported hardware and a simple android app to send commands&files(mp3) to the server. I hope you'll make a complete and open solution for home automation, good luck
harunurhan··on Ask HN: Who is hiring? (February 2015)
Is there any intern position?
harunurhan··on Notes on Red Star OS 3.0
I know, but I have better performance on vm. May be hardware limits of vm was too low.
