Why store "childhood memories" on an online service though? Those websites get hacked all the time, you're lucky if your privates pictures don't endup in the wrong hands...
hamburgererror··on Running local models is good now
Do you all use local models only for coding? What about using them as decision assistant? For instance, I work in science and sometimes I have many scattered ideas that I'd like to feed into an LLM so I can refine them and extract a meaningful research question. Are local LLM suited for that task?
hamburgererror··on I admire Fabrice Bellard. He is almost certainly a better overall programmer
> He just keeps shipping.

> He just wrote code.

> He was not done.

> He kept going.

> He is still shipping.

hamburgererror··on The $500K AI Film That "Premiered at Cannes" Was Not in the Official Festival
One could try to argue that it could fall as Z movies but at least Z movies can be accidentally funny. This AI movie is just garbage.

Well, getting to the end of that trailer was a long and tedious experience.

hamburgererror··on What we lost when we stopped letting kids leave the front yard
It's fascinating to me that we forbid our kids to wander and socialize outside believing it's "dangerous" while it's safe. And instead we let them wander endlessly online where they can easily get abused...

hamburgererror··on Ask HN: What are your predictions for 2026?
Wow I'm late, but not so surprised!

I'll correct my take then: due to this, the epidemic of loneliness will start to surge like never before. This might pave the way to some reaction in the public opinion, but real concrete actions will not happen in 2026, I would rather expect them around 2028 or even 2030.
