halfjoking··on Covid's damage lingers in the heart
Like I said it's a mountain of evidence, this is study discussed in the twitter link:

https://bpspubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1111/bph....

The "seven times higher" study is complete fraud. I don't have time to debunk it, but if you want to see the mountain of evidence, follow the mouse that the former US Surgeon General got mad about recently:

https://twitter.com/search?q=from%3Ajikkyleaks%20myocarditis...

halfjoking··on Threads 'temporarily' blocks Covid search terms to focus on larger concerns
Seemed coherent to me but I already knew most of it because I follow JikkyLeaks. That anonymous mouse has named every #___gate related to the shots in the last 2 years.

The former US Surgeon General even mentioned him today:

https://twitter.com/JeromeAdamsMD/status/1715053047229940222

Maybe if RFK JR is elected we can get Jikky as the new Surgeon General?

halfjoking··on Threads 'temporarily' blocks Covid search terms to focus on larger concerns
#plasmidgate really has the Covid censors doing damage control. I’m sure Facebook is receiving thousands of censorship requests daily from gov.

The gist of the scandal is that yes, it was gene therapy:

halfjoking··on Browser extensions spy on you, even if its developers don't
Developers who get paid for this know what they’re doing.

Saying they don’t know is like saying a courier who delivers packages from Mexico never knew they were delivering narcotics. That defense doesn’t really hold up in court. Extension devs who do it should be banned from the store.

halfjoking··on Show HN: Squabblr – A Twitter/Reddit hybrid platform
lol Australia? Like you said they all vaccinated with few covid deaths… then they had a mass die-off.

https://kirschsubstack.com/p/how-are-they-ever-going-to-expl...

Why’d everyone die AFTER mass vaccination? Are you saying Australia didn’t have more excess deaths in 2021/2022 after widespread vaccination? Where’s your data?

Look at the charts in the article. Does that look like a safe vaccine? Even mainstream media says it’s unprecedented how many died there https://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/health/health-problems/exc...

Of course they never say it’s the vaccine but how else do you explain it?

halfjoking··on Show HN: Squabblr – A Twitter/Reddit hybrid platform
Props to you for taking a stand.

I was banned from every mainstream subreddit for criticizing the Covid vaxx. (I wasn’t spamming I just said my opinion when the topic came up)

The people who say free speech is alt-right have bought into the “dangerous speech” narrative of the media and 3-letter agencies. The powerful just don’t want criticism. So they push identity politics - as if your identity is the be all, end all of morality.

Whenever I criticized the vaccine I was called a right-wing nut. I’m not right-wing, I also believe the world is ending from climate change, support Medicare for all and wrote in Andrew Yang in 2020.

They’re just so brainwashed they can’t conceive that you can make arguments about important issues without looking through the frame of how the media set it up… with straw men to say those are the adjacent views of a fascist. So I think the vaxx is unsafe, I must be a fascist. It’s so absurd.

The only way they can maintain this upside down world is with censorship. So once again thanks for taking a stand for free speech. It’s the right thing to do.

halfjoking··on Docker Is Four Things
You’re right formatting the drive would work.

But reinstall Windows crashes, USB recovery drive only helps copy files from command line, system restore points all crash. “OS corruption” sounds like it can be repaired while keeping files, but this is worse than that.

Still pissed my HP Windows laptop was bricked from it a few months ago. I’ll never use it for anything.

halfjoking··on Scientists Have Developed the Whitest White Paint Ever Made – Can Cool Surfaces
Huge corporations say

“Other than all the environmental damage, why not?” all the time. They weigh the likelihood of being caught or not, and do a cost/benefit analysis. They choose environmental damage just for a 1% increase in profit margins.

If they can do it, why can’t a properly funded radical geoengineering activist group do it?

halfjoking··on Scientists Have Developed the Whitest White Paint Ever Made – Can Cool Surfaces
Can we paint the existing snow /ice in the Arctic with this?

Like crop dust with UAV planes? Other than “think of the wildlife/habitat”, why not?

halfjoking··on Earth’s hottest month: these charts show what happened in July; what comes next

mRNA vaccines are not safe - people who shouted fire were censored and continue to be censored. Where are the consequences for those who said “there is no fire?”

And if you still believe there isn’t a fire… why are excess deaths among < 24 up 45% and it still doesn’t make the news?

halfjoking··on US Job Market Clues Seen in Drop in Employee Hours Worked
Never heard of that, but that’s really a moonlighters dream.

Here I am planning how to use every single one of my vacation days strategically so I can grow my $1k/mon business to $10k/mon. If I had up to 2 months unpaid it would be a game-changer.

halfjoking··on Injunction issued in case about social media pressure from US Government
Twitter and Substack are the only places a post like this isn’t censored:

https://twitter.com/jathorpmfm/status/1677001591407116296

On Reddit/Facebook it just gets banned. I regularly read /r/Covid19 to see the fraudulent studies they push so I can counter them with my own studies. Like the Twitter guy says it’s their side that doesn’t want debate.

halfjoking··on Injunction issued in case about social media pressure from US Government
That is not anywhere in the injunction.

You are taking a statement about the climate created by overreaching government demands out of context. When a government repeatedly makes authoritarian demands, it causes widespread suppression outside the scope of the initial demands.

But that has nothing to do with the specifics of the injunction. Once again people should read it, and decide if anything in the injunction restricts legitimate government free speech. (it doesn’t)

halfjoking··on Injunction issued in case about social media pressure from US Government
The CDC yelled "VACCINATE YOUNG PEOPLE" using fraudulent data.

https://twitter.com/kevinnbass/status/1674920880219234304

I agree they should be charged with manslaughter for all the blood clots, heart disease and cancers they caused among young people.

halfjoking··on Injunction issued in case about social media pressure from US Government
The government can say whatever they want in press conferences or through their social media. Both the government and their employees have as much free speech as they want - and not only that but they spent billions of dollars for advocacy groups especially during covid. (which we know now was used to promote fraudulent science)

The injunction says the government can't urge, pressure or encourage censorship. (yes everyone should read it). You have to be joking you think that is a bad thing.

halfjoking··on John Carmack on shorter work weeks (2016)
> You should be invested in the success of the people who you work for, financially (or whatever you value).

Bullshit. They are trying to make millions for themselves, not me.

I'm trying to make millions for myself through my SaaS that I work on nights/weekends.

If they want to give me founding ownership of their company then I'll reconsider, but otherwise I'm just going to do the work assigned. I'm not going to be enthusiastic or care if it succeeds. I'll just do the work to the best of my ability, and then save the rest of my energy for my business, not theirs.

halfjoking··on Swedish PM: we are now changing our migration policy to the EU's strictest
So in other countries when tackling immigration, your leader doesn't sign an 'Excecutive Order' that he will build a wall, the most beautiful wall, without the support of nearly anyone else except his rabid base? I'm shocked.
halfjoking··on Archive your Reddit data before it's too late
Too late? I already lost a ton of data in the covid purge. (was active user of /r/NoNewNormal) Every comment, post or interaction on a banned sub is suddenly deleted permanently with no way to retrieve it. That's really losing data, not a made up crisis of "enshittification."

Most people worried about the API change have the "correct politics" so your data is safe. It's only people who participate in wrongthink that need to backup everything.

halfjoking··on Exercise Has Many Health Benefits. Weight Loss Isn't One of Them
All modern medical science is fraudulent. If you believe otherwise you haven’t been paying attention.

Read some arkmedic

https://arkmedic.substack.com/

I may rant off the cuff like I did in that comment, but the evidence is there you should not trust anything in a medical journal.

halfjoking··on Exercise Has Many Health Benefits. Weight Loss Isn't One of Them
This article describes a problem but gives no solution.

It mentions caloric restriction but nothing about fasting. And fasting is a form of caloric restriction but it’s not really the same - see this video: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2iCVKRxsgE0&pp=ygUldGhvbWFzIGR...

The 36 hour fasts I do are so much easier than trying to eat small portions consistently it’s absurd.

I lost all my extra weight and didn’t even eat as healthy as I was prior to fasting. Serious fasting is like hard exercise for your metabolism. When you exercise, would you rather go hard and push yourself or would you rather go through the motions and not work up a sweat? I think of real fasting (24 hr plus) as intense workout for your metabolism.

And it’s much easier than I thought if you know the tricks… mainly take prebiotic fiber to stop insane hunger. Drink lots of tea. And take pink/mineral salt if you get a fasting headache. If you want to know more of the science why it works watch the YouTube vid I linked. That guy has like 5000 videos about fasting, it’s so much he should probably do a fast of making YouTube vids about fasting.

halfjoking··on Our model suggests that global deaths remain 5% above pre-Covid forecasts
Is now a good time to say what I was censored for on Reddit/Twitter in 2021?

You are statistically more likely to die if you took a Covid vaccine.

https://wherearethenumbers.substack.com/p/the-devils-advocat...

We said the vaxx would cause more heart attacks, blood clots and cancers, and few people listened. Those things happened, deaths skyrocketed starting in mid-2021, and everyone is still in denial.

If you don’t believe me, go to this website, filter by 25-44 and set the time range from Jan 2020-2023.

https://www.usmortality.com/deaths/weekly

The big jump in deaths for young people happened in the middle of 2021… do people think Covid only started killing young people mid-2021? That the virus waited over a year before killing in this age group?

Overall - young people don’t die of Covid. Look at this table: https://www.statista.com/statistics/1191568/reported-deaths-...

About 45k people died of Covid in the age group we’re talking about during entire pandemic. Every week of 2021 thousands of excess deaths occurred in that age group. So Covid deaths come nowhere close to covering young people’s excess deaths. It’s the stupid vaccine - Covid doesn’t even cause myocarditis, see this study: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35456309/

All studies funded by CDC that say “Covid causes more myocarditis than vaxx” were damage control. They fabricate data and the science is fraudulent. If you do country by country comparisons by vaccination rate as in the first link it becomes very obvious.

halfjoking··on Share of Americans skipping medical care due to money woes jumps significantly
I believe the vaccines killed a lot of people, not just J&J

https://wherearethenumbers.substack.com/p/the-devils-advocat...

My link above was about #ECMOGATE. The claim is that doctors were literally killing the unvaccinated by giving them different treatment plans that lead to more death.

halfjoking··on Here’s How AI Will Come for Your Job
Software development will be the last of the last jobs to be automated.

Take Shopify which makes it so you don't have to hire devs for your ecommerce store. A lot of custom work for ecommerce stores dried up, but then developers moved on to things that could not be automated. Let's say AI gets so good it can handle ALL types of web development tasks. The tools for AI would have to be extremely advanced, so much so that a normal web developer now has super-powers.

You might not think a web developer has the ability to automate a construction workers job... but in a future where AI is so good that web development is obsolete? Robotics frameworks would be as easy to use as React by then.

Of course there are many edge cases in automating the real world, and that's why you'll need hoards of developers to iterate, debug and customize robots coded using AI. The job won't involve typing code in an IDE anymore, so maybe you can question whether it is actual "development." But the only jobs left in the future will technical people who understand how software and AI works.

halfjoking··on Ask HN: Anyone else find ChatGPT 3.5 a much better co-programmer than ChatGPT 4?
Yeah GPT4 seems worse lately. I had it build a complex tree view and make incremental feature updates which really impressed me. But last week or so it's giving me junk - messing up variables or rearranging code for no reason even though the file I'm copying/pasting as reference hasn't changed in size.
halfjoking··on It looks like GPT-4-32k is rolling out
I applied the first day and just got API access a few days ago.

It is strange they can roll out 32k for some, while not even having 8k for everyone yet.

halfjoking··on Ocean Warming Study So Distressing, Some Scientists Didn't Want to Talk About It
Yeah it's alarmist, but I believe exponential growth in climate change could occur very soon due to feedbacks. Here's the reasoning:

https://arctic-news.blogspot.com/2023/02/dire-situation-gets...

Only thing I disagree with on that blog is that the feedbacks will happen over a longer timeline. But 2026 is the tipping point year where climate change starts accelerating so fast it won't be able to be stopped. Then over the next 5-10 years things like "Clouds Tipping Point" (https://arctic-news.blogspot.com/p/clouds-feedback.html) will be reached. So 2026 is the beginning of the end of human civilization IMO. Of course some people may live underground, in the ocean or other places, but billions of people will die within 10 years following the 2026 tipping point. Billions is the low estimate, more like 99.999999% of humans.

halfjoking··on Ocean Warming Study So Distressing, Some Scientists Didn't Want to Talk About It
Most straightforward carbon removal is accelerated rock weathering IMO

https://www.projectvesta.org/

The ocean is the carbon sink that’s reaching a tipping point. If it keeps becoming more acidic and heating up, the plankton will die, oxygen levels drop and we all die.

Limestone rock weathering is how carbon is lowered naturally - usually it happens from an earthquake that exposes these types of rocks. Then over millions of years they suck carbon out of ocean as they weather. Accelerating that process by transporting the rocks to coastal areas with a lot of waves will dramatically reduce carbon. We’re talking carbon removal at less than $20/ton. Nothing else comes close, is as natural, or attacks the problem at the source by going after ocean carbon and acidification.

We need $1 trillion spent yearly on rock weathering and we could avert mass death this decade. We got about 3 years to do it. 2026 is the last chance since El Niño and the sun cycle is at peak that year, after that human civilization is done for.
