hahahahhaah··on Ask HN: Do you "micro-manage" your agents?
Rather than mictomanage I learn from the mistakes and start from scratch again (empty folder) with new specs.
hahahahhaah··on Startup will send 1k people's ashes to space, affordably, in 2027
Or just get cremated on earth then in a few billion the supernova will do it for free.
hahahahhaah··on Gas Town's agent patterns, design bottlenecks, and vibecoding at scale
I found AI particular useful in ossified swamps at big companies where paying down tech debt would be a major many team task unalignable with OKR. But an agent helps you use natural language to the needful boilerplate to get the cursed "do this now" task done.

I am at 5 at home, 3 or something shit at work. I don't like wasting money tho.
hahahahhaah··on Comma openpilot – Open source driver-assistance
sorry not been keeping up. thanks for the info
hahahahhaah··on Proof of Corn
Thanks. Are there good links for this topic?
hahahahhaah··on Comma openpilot – Open source driver-assistance
I like Comma. I like geohot (I wouldn't want to work for him I imagine it is intense) but I like the contrary attitude and also the product as seen as demoed on youtube.
hahahahhaah··on Comma openpilot – Open source driver-assistance
I guess it would be like open source cruise control. In that they could assert some probability of incorrect installation that caused the accident.
hahahahhaah··on Proof of Corn
Read all the comments in this thread from farmers or farm-adjacent people.

12 was close - we have bags.fm but twitter not tiktok
hahahahhaah··on Proof of Corn
Loving the soulless summary of "HN Concerns"
hahahahhaah··on Proof of Corn
The qustion does that collapse look like a warzone where a digitial piece of paper saying you own something means very little.
hahahahhaah··on Proof of Corn
Why is organic not suatsinable? Not affordable I get. But does organic damage the environment making it hard to farm again? or use inputs that are not sustainable?

Genuine question. I am alway curious when a statement goes against conventional wisdom.

hahahahhaah··on Ask HN: Is Claude Down for You?
Claude Down is the new Github Down.
hahahahhaah··on Ask HN: How do you find the "why" behind old code decisions?
Search slack. Find chesterton there.

Otherwise cross reference ticket.

Otherwise search docs.

Otherwise ask teammates.

Otherwise don't change it.

If you have to change it have a careful rollback / DR plan.

hahahahhaah··on Bugs Apple loves
Apple Screentime. 100 settings. If you crack the code it works. One wrong setting and the childs device is as open as a book.
hahahahhaah··on Show HN: isometric.nyc – giant isometric pixel art map of NYC
I love it, and I want it for my city, and hell the whole world!
hahahahhaah··on Scaling PostgreSQL to power 800M ChatGPT users
It is what mature engineering does. Migrations are not fun.
hahahahhaah··on We will ban you and ridicule you in public if you waste our time on crap reports
Not yet
hahahahhaah··on Skip is now free and open source
I like the analogy. It is not perfect since recipes dont compose much (just a tiny bit) but a good analogy for the discussion.
hahahahhaah··on We will ban you and ridicule you in public if you waste our time on crap reports
Dog whistle to AI. Love it.
hahahahhaah··on Your app subscription is now my weekend project
Right but most of the time, in my experience they keep the lights on.
hahahahhaah··on Your app subscription is now my weekend project
Also you dont need the architecture to scale to millions of users. So it can be a bit more rough and OK to be inefficient.
hahahahhaah··on Tell HN: Bending Spoons laid off almost everybody at Vimeo yesterday
It is simple. A productive developer can either:

* Fix things

* Build new things

Add to this that things naturally break. Try a git reset to 1 year ago and deploy that to prod, for example.

Add to that new features tend to add new bugs.

hahahahhaah··on Tell HN: Bending Spoons laid off almost everybody at Vimeo yesterday
I don't think you need ZIRP or even VC to have successful software companies that reinvest in features. You need a low marginal cost of manufacturing, aka the floppy disk.
hahahahhaah··on The percentage of Show HN posts is increasing, but their scores are decreasing
Attention is all you need was very prescient.
hahahahhaah··on The percentage of Show HN posts is increasing, but their scores are decreasing
No memory bugs then. Just like ... well Node, Ruby, Python, C#, Java...
hahahahhaah··on The percentage of Show HN posts is increasing, but their scores are decreasing
Sort of. Eternal September phenomenom was a regualar September cadence. Then AOL came.

There was no warning / taster of this. AI just dialed up to 11 real quick.

hahahahhaah··on Ask HN: What's an API that you wish existed?
I like the current stock apis but they limit the end date / time to now.
hahahahhaah··on The Agentic AI Handbook: Production-Ready Patterns
I feel like just use claude code. That is it. Use it you get the feel for it. Everyone is over complicating.

It is like learning to code itself. You need flight hours.
