hadem··on New UI Pattern: Website Loading Bars
When a page is loading under Chrome on Linux, a spinner is show in the tab where the favicon is normally displayed. It isn't a "progress bar" but it is an indication that the page has not fully loaded yet.

Perhaps to avoid easily right clicking the image and saving it to your machine? I know it is still easily downloadable, but not so much for a lot of users.

I'm confused. Their navigation in their header seems to not function properly, so I can't read their FAQ. Why would I pay $100 - $500 monthly for reminders when there is an endless number of apps to pick from that will do exactly this. Everything from the Reminders app on the iPhone, to Google Calendar to various web applications.

I have to be missing something?

hadem··on Moto X review
I find it odd that they are pushing the, assembled with you, aspect but only one US carrier actually supports this feature (at this time).

Maybe I'm confused, but isn't this just a stylized cover plate? Similar to what is on offer at all the kiosks at various malls?

hadem··on Angular or Backbone: what are startups using?
I've been wondering about client side vs server side view rendering as well. I am used to working with server side MVC frameworks so rendering the view client side is a bit odd to me. Is the ability for the end user to see some of the view markup (conditional statements, loops, etc) an issue?

I was wondering something similar. Does Glacier have any way to see a preview of the images you are downloading? If I upload 100 images with serialized file names (001.jpg, 002.jpg) how do I know which images to download?
hadem··on PHP 5.5 released and other things PHP related
Agreed! Framework arguments aside, learn how to use Composer. If you haven't played with namespaces, this is a great way to start learning more about them and using them in your own codebase. It also makes it incredibly easy to work with other packages[1]!

hadem··on What's Wrong with the iOS 7 Icons?
Really? When have we seen Apple change its game like that before?

Don't like Mission Control? Too bad, get used to it. Want Google Maps back after Apple pushed their maps too soon? Sorry, your stuck with Apple maps. Bad cell reception? You're just holding your phone wrong.

There are many examples like this. I've seen many people say something along the lines of, "oh don't worry, this is just beta, it will all be better when it is released." It may, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

hadem··on Files and folders
The apps the author speaks of uses the file systems he claims will soon be obsolete. Maybe some enjoy not having to organize their data but I prefer having access to decide where my files are stored on my system.
hadem··on FLAC 1.3.0 Released
What are you listening with/on when you perform these comparisons? You probably won't hear any difference when listening with set of standard ear buds that come with your smart phone or laptop speakers. If you have a nice pair of headphones/speakers, the difference is easier to hear.

Who knows, maybe any differences I think I hear are just placebo effects :-)

hadem··on iOS 7
I was thinking the exact opposite. I have been thinking about switching to Android for some time now. I think it is safe to say that I'll be switching to Android for sure now. I was not impressed with a lot of the changes to iOS 7 and think a lot of them are down right ugly (icons, blurred background everywhere).
