hadeharian··on Updates Make Windows 7 and 8 Spy on You Like Windows 10
Windows, now like AOL but better!
hadeharian··on Jeb Bush wants “a new arrangement with Silicon Valley” to ease crypto
It's a more dangerous situation to let everyone read poorly encrypted things. Jeb Bush 'thinks' he's doing everyoen a favor by asking for this. Unfortunately, he can't take a hint from his brother's mistakes and be a little more introspective.
hadeharian··on Ask HN: When you can't fall asleep, what do you do?
Take an antihistamine which makes me drowsy, and then I sleep. Sleepiness is often a function or two things: (a) feeling comfortable (b) not being too busy minded about things

In my case, sometimes I just don't feel comfortable enough. However, I think even a sugar pill would help some, because in some cases it's just a matter of deciding to stop thinking about things enough to settle down.

hadeharian··on Barcelona: The most wired city in the world
Why would you want the most connected city? Online security is still not a mature field, with many manufacturers completely skirting security requirements. What you are building by going completely online too much too soon is a recipe for disaster.
hadeharian··on The 4 Rules for Converting Online Leads into Sales
Rule 1) Don't obscure your product with user tools.
hadeharian··on Show HN: Intuitive nutrition information
I would be nice if this worked at all on earlier versions of Firefox.
hadeharian··on Farmer so sick of poor Internet signal he built DIY mast
Last mile solution. I need one like that to get FIOS to the house.
hadeharian··on Pando goes to, and is escorted out of, Y Combinator demo day
I hate that he makes it sound like he had some responsibility to be there as if by invitation. I'm sure everyone wants to report on this stuff, but reporting has never worked that way. Reporters are often excluded for any and every reason from conferences, for much the same reason that people don't invite everyone to a party.
hadeharian··on The anti-diabetes diet: a 2,000 calorie-a-day food planner
Or just cut out all sweets and snacks with added sugars.
hadeharian··on Startups That Launched at YC S15 Demo Day 1
Teasmade? I hate tea!
hadeharian··on Facebook Should Pay All of Us
If they did that, I might consider rejoining after my 5 year hiatus. Second thought...no...never. I will not allow the level of manipulation and control that facebook had over my life again, pay or none.
hadeharian··on The mosquito-repelling activity of sweetgrass
It's good to be developing chemicals better than Deet, considering most Dermatologists would never use the stuff.
hadeharian··on Cameron's World
Be afraid.
hadeharian··on TTIP Secret trade deal can only be read in secure 'reading room' in Brussels
Making something public by putting it somewhere extremely inconvenient to see is not making it public. If that were the case, my genitals would be considered quite public at the moment. Even though I'd rather you not see them, they are not locked in a single room. Even if I had photos of them on a device, which I would gladly share with people in person, that STILL does not make them public.
