hackernud3s··on Israel creates fake think tank in likely attempt to dupe AI chatbots
According to UN, Sudan is the worst: https://www.who.int/news/item/09-01-2026-sudan-1000-days-of-...

Yet you seem to be completely unaware of it. Why do you think that is?

So if you learned that other states are committing greater crimes, then you would agree that the reporting is anti-semitic?
hackernud3s··on Tell HN: Cloudflare silently injects its analytics when you switch nameservers
You don't think there's value in hiding origin ip from hackers? lol.
hackernud3s··on Tell HN: Cloudflare silently injects its analytics when you switch nameservers
That's how you get DDOS protection / edge delivery, so it's not a dark pattern. I imagine it's the main reason why people would DNS through them in the first place.
hackernud3s··on Tell HN: Cloudflare silently injects its analytics when you switch nameservers
Then you don't get edge cache though, right? And maybe some other features?

The orange cloud icon in dns settings, in other words, but that's opt-out too. So yeah - double opt-out I guess.
hackernud3s··on Super El Niño Keeps Growing as New Forecasts Reach Record Territory Ahead Winter
I think you're looking at this the wrong way. It's the goal of all religions to make death less scary, that's what they're for. Buddha is just coming at it from a different angle.
hackernud3s··on Firefox is now the last major browser that still supports uBlock Origin
Cheers!

Attachment being the cause of suffering really is core to Buddhism. It's not for everybody though.
hackernud3s··on Firefox is now the last major browser that still supports uBlock Origin
Let's hear it then because I'm using Brave and don't see the opt-out.
hackernud3s··on I close SSH port 22 (and what I use instead)
And https on 22? Why didn't I think of that?
hackernud3s··on I close SSH port 22 (and what I use instead)
I was expecting to hear tailscale TBH. You do you though.
hackernud3s··on Firefox is now the last major browser that still supports uBlock Origin
Brave blocks those ads anyway so no point in Ublock, maybe that's why it's left out. It does inject it's own ads though, and then there's all the crypto nonsense.
hackernud3s··on Lovable raises $400M Series C
I have a client that prototypes things in Lovable and hands them off to me to get them working and deployed. He would be lost in claude code.
hackernud3s··on Beef and dairy drive 41% of biodiversity damage linked to global farmland
But someone still has to eat up all those cows before their methane mucks up the environment.

And if you're not willing to do your part, that just means the rest of us have to pull double duty.

hackernud3s··on Beef and dairy drive 41% of biodiversity damage linked to global farmland
Dropping lamb? Something tells me that won't be a problem for most of the people in this thread lol.
hackernud3s··on Beef and dairy drive 41% of biodiversity damage linked to global farmland
You can get it from supplements. That's about it though.
hackernud3s··on Beef and dairy drive 41% of biodiversity damage linked to global farmland
Beef specifically. If everybody switched to pork, chicken and fish that would mitigate most of this and it's a much more realistic ask.
hackernud3s··on Ethical Cold Outreach
It's ok if it's super-targeted. If it's a product for high school girls soccer coaches, and I'm a high school girls soccer coach, that's reasonable outreach.

But I get a log of "we noticed your website isn't ranking in Google" spam which is not.

hackernud3s··on The main way I've seen people turn ideologically crazy (2025)
The question is, is that a reason to not engage with them, or is it a reason to engage with them? The author seems to suggest we only engage with people in our silos which seems.. incestuous?
hackernud3s··on The main way I've seen people turn ideologically crazy (2025)
The pigs that my family eats have a short but happy life. I'm not so sure that no life at all is objectively better.
hackernud3s··on The main way I've seen people turn ideologically crazy (2025)
That's because your experience is siloed. People in other silos are seeing other headlines and other news articles, and wondering how you could not see them.
hackernud3s··on The main way I've seen people turn ideologically crazy (2025)
We all learned what the 3 branches are in grade school. Some people forgot it. Liberals are more likely to remember it because liberal discourse (this thread for example) reminds them of it. It's a biased litmus test in other words.
hackernud3s··on The main way I've seen people turn ideologically crazy (2025)
This is clearly a cool take though and author knows it. This is not a polarizing view in the sense that anything about Epstein / Gaza / Trans athletes would be.
hackernud3s··on Poland now 6th-largest EU economy, ahead of Switzerland and Belgium
Yet conservative in sense that they... declared independence? I'm trying to follow the second half of that logic train.
hackernud3s··on Poland now 6th-largest EU economy, ahead of Switzerland and Belgium
I'm sure that's true but GDP is also not a good metric because for example it includes health care spend.

If MS spends more on insulin than an EU state it improves that metric which is the opposite of what we're trying to measure I imagine.

hackernud3s··on Poland now 6th-largest EU economy, ahead of Switzerland and Belgium
Poorest is a function of per-capita income and larger economy is a function of population. You're comparing different things.
hackernud3s··on Depression has tripled in the last 15 years. Arthur Brooks about the cause
In the future they'll just 3D-print humans "al gusto".. if they decide it's even worth the trouble.
hackernud3s··on My server is a phone now
It's in the same category as Surf, which is the pain point in the article. It's relevant.
hackernud3s··on Depression has tripled in the last 15 years. Arthur Brooks about the cause
This is what adaptation looks like actually, some organisms not surviving to reproduce.
