hackerbeat··on The beauty of a text only webpage
Nonsense. People gotta make money, especially with AI eating the web.
hackerbeat··on The beauty of a text only webpage
Agreed. And by the way, I really love the simplicity of https://wordgag.com/ (even though it has some ads on it).
hackerbeat··on Ask HN: Is anyone else just done with the industry?
>> I've taken to telling people with absurdly high meeting count hiring processes and one way video screenings that I'm not interested.

Same here — it’s gotten way out of hand.

hackerbeat··on As AI kills search traffic, Google launches Offerwall to boost publisher revenue
Clout doesn‘t pay the bills.
hackerbeat··on Man 'refused entry into US' as border control catch him with bald JD Vance meme
The US is gone. Stay away!

PS: Just use Bear Blog everyone.
hackerbeat··on Google is using AI to censor independent websites like mine
SEO is a dead horse.
hackerbeat··on My website is ugly because I made it
New website gives me headaches. The one before was much better.
hackerbeat··on Apple Shortcuts is falling into "the automation gap"
Shortcuts is too complicated. Most folks have a hard time using it.
hackerbeat··on Minimum Viable Blog
Love this, and how more and more folks are going minimal, like https://wordgag.com/.
hackerbeat··on Mark Zuckerberg says social media is over
Yeah, how about improving Facebook (which has been neglected for years) instead of building out Threads (which nobody needs)?
hackerbeat··on 10k Funny Quotes
Not mine, but pretty funny indeed.
hackerbeat··on MacBooks account for 86% of total Mac sales; Mac desktops just 14%
Desktop sales are so low because the 32 inch iMac is years overdue.
hackerbeat··on Tesla gets more than 20% of parts from Mexico, it will be affected by tariffs
Very simple: Trump wants to be a dictator, so he sides with dictators.

hackerbeat··on Meta torrented & seeded 81.7 TB dataset containing copyrighted data
One of the many reasons why Zuck’s been sucking up to Trump. He’s in desperate need of some Get-Out-Of-Jail-Free cards.

Same for all the other sleazy tech bros.

hackerbeat··on Mark Zuckerberg: This Man Is a Coward
Trump and his sleazy tech bros will go down in history as the gravediggers of democracy.
hackerbeat··on I've been advocating for RSS support, and you should too
WTF?
hackerbeat··on I've been advocating for RSS support, and you should too
The problem with RSS today is that bad actors use it to scrape and rewrite content using AI.

Not having it enabled makes life harder for them since many are too lazy/not savvy enough to use other means to steal content.

hackerbeat··on The Washington Post kills off its "Democracy Dies In Darkness" slogan
Trump and his sleazy tech bros will go down in history as the gravediggers of democracy.
hackerbeat··on How Google Is Killing Bloggers and Small Publishers – and Why
Lol. Agreed. The result weren't too bad (compared to Google) but everything else is a total nightmare. Makes you wonder if the folks building it are actually using it, or if they've already surrendered to AI and fled the place.
hackerbeat··on How Google Is Killing Bloggers and Small Publishers – and Why
Most Bing results are actually much better today than Google's.
hackerbeat··on M4 MacBook Pro
Can we just get a 32 inch iMac, please?

I'm getting tired of everything else being updated yet the product most needed is completely being neglected, and for years already.

And no, I don't wanna buy a separate tiny screen for thousands of dollars.

I'm also not interested in these tiny cubes you deem to be cool.

hackerbeat··on Using an 8K TV as a Monitor
