hackan··on On trust in software development
Trust, but verify. I believe in code review, nobody's perfect, and delivering broken code bc you missed something, simply sucks...
hackan··on Dis This: Disassemble Python code online
It's really neat, I like it! It would be nice to catch exceptions, they are currently blowing up, i.e.: ``` ncaught PythonError: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/lib/python3.11/_pyodide/_base.py", line 460, in eval_code .run(globals, locals) ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ File "/lib/python3.11/_pyodide/_base.py", line 306, in run coroutine = eval(self.code, globals, locals) ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ File "<exec>", line 7, in <module> File "<exec>", line 5, in feet_to_meters ZeroDivisionError: division by zero ```
hackan··on What we look for in a resume
Yeah, it's always the same w/ this: there's absolutely no consensus whatsoever. I once removed "git" as keyword (as i.e. recommended at the beginning of the post), and got asked tirelessly by recruiters if I actually didn't know git, and why I wasn't mentioning it... So yeah, those skills list are meant for recruiters and machines alike...
hackan··on What happens when a CPU starts
Yes, exactly that. It feels incomplete :S
hackan··on Tell HN: Sometimes you don't realise how bad something is until you leave
Regarding work, there's a concept called "mobbing", which basically is making someone miserable so they quit. So yes, it may happen on purpose, which is deliberately bad. Some countries have laws against it, but even then, it is not easy to prove. I just wanted to mention it, and bring it to the discussion.
hackan··on What happens when a CPU starts
Is it me or the article seems incomplete? It kinda finishes for me after:

> The following are the memory ranges you get with a 2-to-4 converter on an 8-bit address bus:

And that's it. It looks truncated, or incomplete
