h1fra··on OpenClaw surpasses React to become the most-starred software project on GitHub
This is going to be the most starred and unused repo very quickly. The hype is already fading, as expected
h1fra··on Infrastructure decisions I endorse or regret after 4 years at a startup (2024)
I had to reach AWS because of a bug in Aurora last year; they replied quickly but said that they couldn't understand the bug...
h1fra··on Infrastructure decisions I endorse or regret after 4 years at a startup (2024)
I never got this in the comparison of aws between gcp. Why do people need direct support that much? In 8 years, I had to reach out to GCP maybe twice and still got an answer anyway.
h1fra··on I made my own Git
Learning git internals was definitely the moment it became clear to me how efficient and smart git is.

And this way of versionning can be reused in other fields, as soon as have some kind of graph of data that can be modified independently but read all together then it makes sense.

h1fra··on There is an AI code review bubble
one more ai code review please, I promise it will fix everything this time, please just one more
h1fra··on Self Sanitizing Door Handle
Or use copper
h1fra··on Nuclear elements detected in West Philippine Sea
I'm not sure to get. They say took decades for this particular pollution to reach the Philippines via ocean circulation systems but the images suggest it's coming from rivers. Is it possible that china is hiding something?
h1fra··on Show HN: Dock – Slack minus the bloat, tax, and 90-day memory loss
Most people say their number one complaint is limited history. But then you offer that, and they realize it was not such a big deal. Slack still wins on so many levels that I don't see anyone willing to move any time soon.
h1fra··on Light Mode InFFFFFFlation
There is something in the air regarding dark mode, lots of people are starting to admit dark mode UI are often harder to read, harder to build, or not worth the effort. Maybe we are past peak dark-mode
h1fra··on Why some clothes shrink in the wash and how to unshrink them
It's rarely an issue with coton, but it's still a problem with cashmere or wool. Even on the most delicate settings you can have surprises
h1fra··on Elo – A data expression language which compiles to JavaScript, Ruby, and SQL
Love the idea, but I don't think this "built for [...] non-technical users" works. All the examples were more confusing to me vs a regular programming language and definitely not accessible to non-technical users.

Also, why would I want to compile to multiple languages? If I'm building a no-code platform, I won't bother supporting 3 different languages since I'm the only one seeing the code.

h1fra··on ChatGPT Health
My doctor is in the EU, and none of them care, it's been documented heavily in the past months.
h1fra··on Side-by-side comparison of how AI models answer moral dilemmas
well, I wasn't expecting half of the models to say yes to death penalty, so I would say even the dumb questions are interesting.
h1fra··on ChatGPT Health
I was going to be mad at this, but I remember our doctors are already using it without our consent
h1fra··on Sergey Brin's Unretirement
The hard truth is most people don't have hobbies. It's even more true with billionaires that dedicated their whole life to their job
h1fra··on BYD Sells 4.6M Vehicles in 2025, Meets Revised Sales Goal
Might be right; however, why stop at cars? Almost everything you buy and consume is produced in China or elsewhere
h1fra··on Shai-Hulud compromised a dev machine and raided GitHub org access: a post-mortem
We don't have a clear explanation of the destructive behavior, right? It looks like it had no real purpose, and there were much more effective ways of destroying their repos. Very script kiddie-like, which does not really fit the main complexity of the virus. Very surprising.
h1fra··on The "Mad Men" in 4K on HBO Max Debacle
Great article, I really thought it was a recropping like friends (and many others). So weird that they just forgot about CGI.
h1fra··on Abuse of the nullish coalescing operator in JS/TS
so like assert(process.env.MY_ENV_VAR) but in a less readable oneliner?
h1fra··on OpenAI needs to raise at least $207B by 2030
But it's happening in the biggest capitalist country in a capitalist world
h1fra··on Chrome Jpegxl Issue Reopened
Webp was a nice new format now widely adopted in browsers, yet it's barely supported in websites (upload) and softwares. It's hard to see this being different.
h1fra··on RegreSQL: Regression Testing for PostgreSQL Queries
Interesting. Perf regression can happen locally but they mostly happen in prod when data change in volume or in shape, can this run safely on a prod db?
h1fra··on Blue Origin lands New Glenn rocket booster on second try
I wish EU was next but we slept too much on this one
h1fra··on Steam Machine
not everybody has to be Apple, but the ugliness of this page (and the others) is astounding
h1fra··on A modern 35mm film scanner for home
No video demo, no scan restults, focusing too much on design and buzz words. Thanks I'll stick to my $400 epson scanner
h1fra··on Ask HN: What Are You Working On? (Nov 2025)
Really nice
h1fra··on How a devboard works (and how to make your own)
If I had to guess, it's because it's loading a bajillion images that are not compressed
h1fra··on Please stop asking me to provide feedback #8036
you don't have to ask for cookies if you don't use them
h1fra··on Nvidia to invest up to $1B in AI startup Poolside
they received massive funding from french billionaires, maybe it was part of the deal
h1fra··on French ex-president Sarkozy begins jail sentence
As always, france is always just 5-10 years behind US craziness.
