gregman1··on Euro firms must ditch Uncle Sam's clouds and go EU-native
Afaik Hetzner has a couple of server locations in the USA. Is it correct to say that Hetzner has to comply to US CLOUD Act and therefore give away any data requested?

gregman1··on AlphaDec: A human-readable alternative to ULID/Snowflake IDs

gregman1··on Ask HN: Pecedent for all Reddit 3rd party apps redirecting to a competitor?
I asked Christian (Apollo) about it and he decided to ignore that question. It would be cool to have an open source “plugin” for Apollo to translate, for example, lemmy to Apollo’s internal API. I expect it to boost lemmy development as well.

There are no software patents in EU (maybe even in the whole Europe) with exception for specially designed hardware. Idk how that works.

gregman1··on Germany falls into recession as inflation hits economy
The lost generations of nuclear engineers in Germany is a concerning issue. Training a nuclear engineer requires a long-term commitment, from sparking interest in the field to building new plants in Europe. Without a new generation of nuclear engineers, Germany will struggle to maintain its nuclear power plants and develop new ones. It's crucial to invest in education and training programs to attract and retain young talent in the nuclear industry. Doing it today may result in a new power plant in like… 60-100 years.
