ges··on Show HN: Ypander - Hackernews like it should be [for Chrome]
Just pushed an update to solve it.
ges··on Show HN: Ypander - Hackernews like it should be [for Chrome]
Thanks for all the feedback! I just pushed an update taking into account some of your remarks:

* Preserved the default behavior of the "x comments" link: it now inserts an "Expand comments" link next to the default comments link, so that you can use HN the traditional way with Ypander installed.

* Speed increased

* Support of news.ycombinator.org

* Support of https

To make things clear, Ypander doesn't alter the HN visual design in any way. It just provides a faster way to use it.
ges··on Show HN: Ypander - Hackernews like it should be [for Chrome]
Agreed! Done.
ges··on Show HN: Ypander - Hackernews like it should be [for Chrome]
It is sending a simple get request to the comments links, so it should load roughly as fast as reloading the full page. As per expired links, it takes the links that are on your page. Can you be more specific about that?

Runs ok here. Here is the link to the chrome store in case of: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/knkmodnockkaaebcbb...
ges··on Show HN: Ypander - Read/write/upvote hackernews comments from within the feed
Inspired by a hack posted yday, I wanted to have something to read/write/upvote comments without having to leave the posts feed. Here it is.
ges··on Ask HN: Domain names you bought for a start-up that never happened
We built a website for this exact purpose - sharing the domain names you bought but ended up not using. Posted a Show HN the day before this thread appeared. Feel free to have a look!

ges··on Show HN: Tell us your best registered domain names that no one knows about
Not for now unfortunately, we are still experimenting.
ges··on Show HN: Tell us your best registered domain names that no one knows about
Hilarious!
ges··on Show HN: Tell us your best registered domain names that no one knows about
Minor timezone glitch, just fixed.
ges··on Show HN: Tell us your best registered domain names that no one knows about
+1 for shapiro, we are just here to allow people socially / casually discuss around their domain names. No crook intentions. :)
ges··on Show HN: Tell us your best registered domain names that no one knows about
That's something we have been thinking about. We are just afraid it would open a door for spammers and trolls if we didn't require an oauth signup to post.
ges··on Show HN: Tell us your best registered domain names that no one knows about
Yes that's a product choice we made. All the UI is designed around javascript, all the nav is done through ajax.
ges··on Show HN: Tell us your best registered domain names that no one knows about
We've run quite a few tests on different browsers to ensure it doesn't happen. Can I ask you which browser you are using?
ges··on Show HN: Tell us your best registered domain names that no one knows about
The idea really is to allow you sharing your stories with people you can have access to. I think the fun part of it is to see who owns what. And Twitter allows you to eventually get in touch with the person if you have any interest in the domain name or just want to randomly comment on it.

Thanks for the feedback! We try to make the Twitter integration as smooth and natural as possible by placing checkboxes within the text inputs, on the right handside. You can choose whether or not to share your posts on Twitter by clicking them (it then gets saved for all your following posts across the platform). Absolutely no wish to make a spammy app!

Cool. Did you use HTML5 canvas for the snapshots?
ges··on Ask HN: do you think i should put more efforts in this jquery plugin?
Sorry for that, no https --> http://gwendall.github.com
ges··on Show HN: Tweetline.fm - Browse Twitter visually, Pinterest-style
This is a web-based hack I built this week to try bringing a visual appeal to Twitter, as Twitter's UI is currently text-focused and doesn't allow for any visual curation. It lets you browse by having a quick overview of tweets' attachments (picture, video, text extracts, whatever I can get). Hope you'll enjoy it!
ges··on Don't mimic UI elements from other platforms
"Please, don't try making stunning Android apps. Just respect our crappy design patterns." Thanks Google!
ges··on MBA or Learn to Code?
That's sometimes how people now performing at Carnegie Hall started.
ges··on Show HN: Hoodsup, meet those you should meet
Yup agree. That's a side project so I took an extreme lean approach. But I'll definitely work on IE over the next days.
ges··on Show HN: Hoodsup, meet those you should meet
weird, i'm investigating on that
ges··on Show HN: Hoodsup, meet those you should meet
Just playing with different lightboxes and jquery. The arrows are images I hide/show.
ges··on Show HN: Hoodsup, meet those you should meet
Alright, just fixed the glitches and opened it for Firefox
ges··on Show HN: Hoodsup, meet those you should meet
Agree, that's exactly the thing i found non engaging about chatroulette. That's why I put this Icebreak box to show you the common points you have with your partner.

Vision is here, product works great on WebKit and I'm working on cross-browser issues. It's a first iteration, the idea is just to get initial feedback for now and see what you guys enjoy and dislike about it. I should put together a proper landing page indeed. Thanks for the advice! :)
ges··on Show HN: Hoodsup, meet those you should meet
Nothing big, it's just a few css glitches I'm fixing
ges··on Show HN: Hoodsup, meet those you should meet
Yeah agree, just quickly drafted that message with no exterior feedback. Changing that. Thanks! :)
