What do think we do then if we find that a decision-maker in a company is highly partisan and maybe bad for privacy?
I believe that it is a very unhealthy model that they have.
Take Cognizant Technology solutions for example. I know a friend who works for the company. They are a US company (NJ based) but the majority of their life-sciences projects are outsourced to India office. They pay my friend one-thirds of what they charge the client for him in the contract. Him and about 5 other people who work here for the client, send work off-shore to India office to about 50 people. This model of outsourcing the majority work to India suits the client because the total costs about one-tenth of what they'd actually pay if everyone of those employees was hired here, in the US.
Not only is this model hurting jobs in the US, it is bad for the employees here well. For my friend, he has to work during the day, and then spend most of the night delegating tasks off-shore. He practically sleeps only over the weekend.
This might be a one-off example with this specific client only for Cognizant but I am aware that the profits from pay-scales are company-wide.
And yes, both reviews (mine and hers) were legit. Mine dealt with a true account of incompetence and hers dealt with a groupon or something that was not honored.
So, I went to Yelp and put a review about them. To my surprise, I received a call from them asking to remove the review or I'll face lawsuit. I deleted the review.
To be honest, the language I had used was not bad in any way and all I did was describe my ordeal with an incompetent doctor.
OKCupid co-founder Christian Rudder wrote, "Those who seek to deny love and instead enforce misery, shame, and frustration are our enemies, and we wish them nothing but failure."
However, instead of simply posting the letter on the company blog, Rudder made sure that every person who visited the site from Firefox saw the letter, by using the browser's User Agent to redirect them to the letter before allowing them to continue with their heart-felt intentions. Browsers have broadcasted their User Agent, which is basically the browser make and model, since the mid-1990s.
I did read the theory of OS by Silberschatz, Galvin et. al. I needed something that had more real-world orientation with source code references.
The freedom of speech in India was never at its best to begin with. Libel and blasphemy laws in India basically allow anyone to be shut up. It is not that Indians are losing freedom-of-speech, it is that they never had most of it, to begin with.
Indian government has been pressurizing Google, Facebook, Twitter etc. to preemptively clear messages that are not in line with blasphemy laws.
A 21 year old is arrested for updating her facebook status and so the girl who "liked" it. See http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/21-year-old-girl-he...
To change anything in India for better, you have to sacrifice your family and your life. It is tough to challenge politicians with or without power in almost all cases. They are rich and have the strongest of connections.
Objectifying women yet again, is all I see here.
Why is the gov. banning filming? What's in it for the gov.?
I agree, commenting without reading the article and only reading the comments is a sure-shot way of making a mistake.
I had no clue IntelliJ supports all of that!
Thanks for sharing Mr. Watson.
That's a very interesting choice. Do you mind mentioning if you do belong to one those organizations that I thought (as a kid and still do) I'll work for.
Not even those high-end LED backlit monitors? What about Apple's own cinema displays?
How do you compare Python Tools for Visual Studio to PyCharm?
This setup requires a huge desk or system to hold it, doesn't it?
