That being said, I'm assuming you'll be told what company is interested in you (if any) when/if they make contact rather than the usual recruiter nonsense ie. "A company in the financial services space" etc etc
Way to hammer home stereotypes, guys.
Whether they suffer some epic burnout in years to come remains to be seen but I hope not for their sake.
(Most) humans aren't supposed to work 80+ a week. I say most because there are always those superhumans you come across that just seem to be able to do it; but most can't.
I always try to look at statements like this through the eyes of a would-be programmer. If I was about to start down the programming route and was told I could never achieve my aims without accepting an 80 hour work week then I'd run a mile.
If they did I'd certainly be interested!

Did you consider that the company hiring maybe saw potential in you? Or maybe even existing ability that you don't recognise (our industry is rife with impostor syndrome)?
Perhaps they realised you wouldn't be a lead dev but had you earmarked for a more junior role.
My basic point is: be optimistic and courageous. The worst case scenario is you learn something. If there's one thing I've learnt recently it's that no one will hold anything against you for taking a leap of faith.
Being a "self-starter" is CRUCIAL to becoming a good programmer. You'll only discover your favourite languages/techniques/etc yourself by trying them out. No one is going to lay down the pathway for you (ie. Do X, Y & Z).
Windows is fine for development. I find OS X easier to configure but thats probably because I only switched to Mac after having several years experience.
There's nothing different than "production-ready software" and any regular old software. Production ready suggests that it has been tested - that's about it. Tons (in fact far too much) "production" undergoes no or very little testing so I wouldn't get hung up on labelling.
Make something, anything.
Bear in mind that I'm a developer :D
I'll be adding plus and minus buttons to either side of the sliders in a future update to make setting price/salary/etc much easier.
There is a bug right now which causes the back button not to appear sometimes - fixed it yesterday and it'll be in the next build.
Thanks again, broseph!
Thanks for purchasing and your nice words!
I reckon there's a memory leak or two causing the unresponsiveness. Working on fixing it for the next version.
Will be adding more content as time goes by - I hope to do an update every 2 weeks so keep your eyes peeled.
Thanks for feedback, duly noted!
Yeah, it makes the shots look kinda crummy :(
Thanks for buying the app! I think there's one or two validation fails that occur which are causing the crashes. I've put several fixes in to the upcoming build so fingers crossed that sorts you out.

From a launch perspective: I had a mailing list of 1600 people built up before launch thanks to getting mentioned on places like Buzzfeed, BetaList etc
From a skills perspective: I already had some (though very limited) app marketing experience but when launch came around I had spoken to so many journalists that I knew
1) where I wanted to get mentioned 2) how to communicate what the app is about (something I struggled with A LOT at the start).
From a day-to-day perspective: great too as it added a nice variety to my week.
Here's a link to the app on the App Store:
I'm Ger, the guy behind this - saw a huge spike in traffic and thought it very much looked like a HN frontage incident.
I built the app in just over three months; alternating between development and marketing a day at a time.
The game is still at an early stage (read: quite buggy) but I'm working on it everyday to improve stability. Nevertheless, I've a ton of nice feedback from people who love the game.
I'll be developing the app over the next few months so expect to see plenty new features.
Happy to answer any questions you guys wanna throw out there.
