I hope they don't teach Tesla with their closed consumer enslaving "tech"

I think the web with all its shortcomings is the best thing to happen to tech industry and I want it to succeed. That does NOT mean it should be used for everything.

I did not understand the part about the internet though, what does this mean?
> oh-so-carefully persuade them to give us Internet access, followed by five minutes to innocently discover their network protocols, then some trivial cracking whose only difficulty was an innocent-looking disguise.
and what about AIs melting? why is that? I feel dumb but I enjoyed it:)
Regarding china, they chose isolationist politics (just like russia lol), it's everyone else's duty to pull the blanket over to the 'everyone' side from 'china' side.
Instead of making everyone use safe ascii charset for IDs (domains, names like the one in the article, etc.), we go for stupid fuckton of language charsets that cause such problems. All in the name of accessiblity or whatever. And all this does it let people continue living in their language-specific bubble instead of just learning the main international language: english and living happily ever after.
And now people suggest some crutches like restricting the data to some subset of unicode. Never learn.
They look neat though, better than having to restart the session to forward ports. Too bad it doesn't work in PuTTY.

Really? You know that the whole world is on it, right? And that it makes far more sense than whatever nonsense someone came up with before.
That's the point people keep missing. These a-holes are seizing control over our computing primarily through Windows and while this stuff (described above) continues, it doesn't really matter if they open-source a lot of shit that doesn't matter much in the grand scheme of things or throw a few bucks here and there because all in all it's Windows that has become a huge problem.
.. Ha-ha, 2 downvotes and no explanation. Is this about so-called 'copy right' bullshit?
It won't. In this sense it's just like openness in software. No matter how much crap and unacceptable 'features' MS pushes on people in win10 (as an example), its usage will not shrink and people will not boycott these power-hungry assholes.
Same with this, the right to repair is fundamental and cannot be taken away. Yet, most just don't care and it will be taken away eventually.
Educating our children and those who we love is probably the best shot at this but it's unlikely it will be enough.
It seems that after introducing a built-in chrome protocol debugger node-inspector was abandoned and now I can't figure out how to use the built-in debugger with babel-node.
I still think this change is beyond stupid.
Like wtf, who thought that saving something you download maybe for the first time as a dependency is a good idea?
Must've hit a sore spot or something...
Even without a degree in design one can see that this page is nearly unreadable. The easiest (but not the only) thing to fix is to limit the width of the column of text.
Don't get me wrong, my beloved firefox is not better. It wants me to install dev edition to be able to install anything.
We made a mistake somewhere along the way.
So instead it's just a fallout from an earlier plot that is no less evil than this one appears to be.
Like if I want to migrate away for those bloated un-diffable PDFs and DOCXs to a HTML?
Preferably it should support importing from those 2 formats.
Legion, Mass Effect 2: https://youtu.be/QgQLsxux6wA?t=258 . The game itself is about organic intelligence vs AI, I encourage you to try the whole trilogy if you haven't already.
