There are also "fantasy consoles". Most of them use Lua+their own api for dealing with the virtual console internals.

* PICO-8 (paid, 8$) https://www.lexaloffle.com/pico-8.php

* TIC80 (opensource, supports more langs like python, scheme, so on) https://tic80.com/

"Do the democracies want music? In the old days they would have made it themselves. Now, they merely turn on the gramophone."

"Kids these days bad, older times good!" - as far as humanity has existed.

The rc shell [2] from plan9 seems more simpler (and saner) than bash. At least you can read the mapage of it[1].

You can use Markdown with pandoc to make a pdf akin to the LaTex ones. For simple stuff, it was nice.

gatane··on A new study looks at how exercise can help alleviate anxiety and depression

gatane··on The Analog Thing: an open source, educational, low-cost modern analog computer
A simple analog computer would be a slide rule (or disk). The advantage is that it doesn't need batteries, but usually has very low precision (about 1.5-2ish decimal digits).

Hell, you can even print it and have a calculator with mul,div,sin,log,√...
