ga-vu··on Intel desktop board BIOS update end-of-life
Not "ALL" BIOS drivers.

Just legacy ones, for boards released in the 90s and early 2000s.

I wish there was a blockchain filter on HN
ga-vu··on Facebook is using the iPhone’s camera as users scroll their feed
The feature still exists. It's for their Stories support. Basically, the iOS app is prematurely pulling up the camera view. Nothing super shady as the linked (garbage) article implies.
ga-vu··on Fraudulent tech-support sites cause Firefox to freeze, displaying scary message
This was fixed in June. The new bypass was found a day before the article was published. The journalist literally gave Mozilla one day to fix.

ga-vu··on Comcast Is Lobbying Against DNS Encryption
And this is a problem why?

DoH is garbage and Mozilla's implementation is just a cashgrab with Cloudflare. Adopt DoT+DNSSEC instead.

ga-vu··on TechCrunch published Snap earnings before numbers went public
No. Newswire services receive these kind of press releases in advance all the time.

Most useless statement in the history of mankind.
ga-vu··on A cartoon intro to DNS over HTTPS (2018)
Mozilla has deployed a canary domain with Firefox. Your ISP can block that canary domain and they'll automatically disable DoH for you... ooops!
ga-vu··on A cartoon intro to DNS over HTTPS (2018)
My problem is that this is highly overhyped by the Mozilla/Cloudflare PR teams, and both companies stand to make money out of it.

A better solution would be DoT+DNSSEC: https://twitter.com/jschauma/status/1184483451111727106

I don't trust Mozilla anymore, especially after becoming a VPN vendor and partnering with Cloudflare. They now have commercial interests in pushing standards down on everybody, similar to Google.

ga-vu··on Gitlab: don't discuss politics at work
They're Ukrainians. Slav people are pretty blunt about these issues. Simply put, they don't care. Work is work. Politics is not work.
