funkyboy··on RubyMotion - Ruby for iOS
I am wondering is anybody asked for a debugger/stepper. Will a dev survive without those? Also, are you ready to write all the code behind xibs?
funkyboy··on Dear business people, an iOS app actually takes a lot of work
How do you know it takes a week to do it?
funkyboy··on Dear business people, an iOS app actually takes a lot of work
Ok, now the worst should be that you have to build the app AND to pay to build it. I will post an ad like that somewhere, to see how it goes.

Yep, but I guess if you have an "hardcore" project you won't find cheap devs (who deliver clean and reusable code on time) easily.

There is also shortage of so called "entrepreneurs" which are able to fairly judge the value of a service.

An estimate for Twitterific is 200K (provided by the authors of the app). Still willing to venture in an iOS app?

This is the worst I have seen. In the past I have been proposed around 1000$ but this wins, hands down! The world is getting crowded of last minute entrepreneurs...
funkyboy··on Ask HN: What is a good alternative to PayPal?
6 (nice to have) handles invoicing automatically.
funkyboy··on Android Design
Google, good work on the Android design guidelines, but is that enough to tame the wild west in the marketplace and the current "anarchy"?

Finally!. Isn't too late? Are OEM and carriers going to follow the same principles? Or they can build whatever skin/mess they want as they did so far?
funkyboy··on Richard Stallman on Steve Jobs
I am just wordless. Probably 'jerk' is the best I can say.
funkyboy··on Poll: How do you use XCode?
I am still using XCode3. Version 4 is pretty buggy and unstable to me. And the transition is not seamless. Once I tried to put a project on dropbox and worked alternatively with version 3 and 4. A mess. I will stick to 3 until 4 gets more stable.
funkyboy··on Don’t Upgrade to Mac OS Lion (Not yet)
There is an interesting discussion about this on forrst: http://forrst.com/posts/Dont_Upgrade_to_Mac_OS_Lion_Not_yet-...
funkyboy··on Firefox 8 is 20% faster than Firefox 5, matches Chrome 14
So Firefox took 10 years to go from version 1 to 3. And took 1 year to go from version 4 to 8.
funkyboy··on Why did you build what you built?
Are you more happy that you have learned a lot or that people are using it?
funkyboy··on Ask HN: Should I join a company that relies on Flash?
If you are asking this question there is more than a chance that you like flash/flex. If they built their tool on top of flash there is more than a chance they like it. Hence, you are meant for each other! I wouldn't be concerned about technology issues. If tomorrow flash dies the company will probably explore news ways, new tools. But at that time you will probably have met great friends and colleagues. I think it is more important to focus on the people you work with, rather than the technology you/they use.
funkyboy··on Ask HN: How much time did you invest in your startup until ramen profitable?
Do you think the same approach you had in 2004 is still "valid" today?
funkyboy··on Top Programming Fonts
It looks slightly more airy than menlo. I'll try it on for a week. One day is not enough to decide.
funkyboy··on Ask HN: Who is Hiring? (May 2011)
