the cost-effectiveness/performance factor benchmark is interesting, but it feels slightly misleading - I just don't see how "average peak torque of all actuated DoFs, normalized by the robot's size" is related to measuring "accessibility and customizability" of the robot.

Into the irons/in irons being a dead sailing area, where boat is head on into the wind (wind's eye). A lot of people get surprised that you can sail upwind as well.

3.5 was amazing for code, and topped benchmarks for months. It'll take a while for other models to take over that mental space.

So, where's your hardware project? Have you ever made one? I think you're underestimating the amount of time and effort that went into the linked project.

I'm wondering the same. There are many reports of lidars damaging camera sensors.

I m curious, how do you deploy Next.js apps w/o docker? Self hosted nodejs? Also how much do you lag behind vercel releases?
frainfreeze··on Gumroad’s source is available
To be fair, getting a platform for free that can potentially bring you to $1M is a very good deal, I'm quite sure you ll figure out a strategy before you get to $1M, and perhaps even get a good deal on the license from them. However I do think they should've been more upfront about the licensing.
frainfreeze··on I stopped using AI code editors
In things that you don't do often? Definitely. I bet every backend developer loves it for frontend tasks, at minimum. And things like makefiles and bash scripts become easy and enjoyable to do well. No need to leave the editor to look up errors or at least get some ideas and pointers on them too. It all depends on how you use the tool, for us it was great help, and God mode for many things

frainfreeze··on Sailing from Berkeley to Hawaii in a 19ft Sailboat
Another sailor you might find interesting is Evi Nemeth, Author of the excellent UNIX and Linux System Administration Handbook (more of a bible than a handbook, I recommend getting it to everyone); "Since her retirement, Nemeth has traded mountains for oceans and has sailed from Florida to the Caribbean via the Mediterranean, West Africa, and Brazil on her 40-foot sailboat named Wonderland. She is now in Trinidad in the West Indies and expects to transit the Panama Canal to the Pacific next year. Her son, Laszlo, lives in Boulder."
