flowerpot··on Ask HN: What is the best laptop for Linux?
I have an asus zenbook and it was super easy to install ubuntu (also single boot) and no driver issues at all.
flowerpot··on Moving to Berlin
Nice article, as a born berliner I can confirm all of this. Actually I can add, that by law you have to register yourself at a Buergeramt within 7 days. It's funny how in our german minds bureaucrats could care less about you standing in line and yourself feeling like just another number. (considering what I have gone through in other countries I have to agree with you) Thanks for sharing! :)

Kreuzberg has nice spots where not only level 7 hipsters are hanging out. Friedrishain is way worse (if you consider that worse, some enjoy hipster presence). Personally I don't mind hipsters, they are usually nice people.
flowerpot··on Netflix to expand to Germany, France and Switzerland
I can confirm that. If Netflix is able to offer as big of a selection as in the US then the mentioned services, then Netflix will quickly take over the market. I know of many people that would even prefer watching in English as dubbing is often not very natural.
flowerpot··on CS student searching for accommodation
Technically its not an internship, since I already work for the company here in Germany, but I'll see if I can get into the Facebook group.

edit: I got accepted into the group, I will see if I can get help there, but thank you very much so far!

flowerpot··on One dashboard to rule them all: Introducing Virtual Channels
Sounds great! I like the fact that you have native apps I sometimes feel they are underrated. And size scaling is something that Dashing has to get better at.

Definitely going to take a look at it with a developer account.

Looks really cool, but how does this differ from Dashing?
flowerpot··on Ask HN: Where do you host your NodeJS applications?
If you are looking for a self hosted solution I would recommend taking a look at Dokku. Its like a self hosted mini version of Heruko.
