floopidydoopidy··on Fix Windows 10 Privacy
Yes his anecdotal evidence is countering parents anecdotal evidence. It's a worthless chain of comments, really.
floopidydoopidy··on Fix Windows 10 Privacy
You're financially supporting the wrong people. So those are the people who can afford to implement the tools you want. Financially support the right people, and you'll find your tools follow the money.
floopidydoopidy··on Open-Source 3D Graphics Design: Where to Begin
Yeah. Advertising budget and that fallacy where people associate cost with value.
floopidydoopidy··on Nvidia adds telemetry to latest drivers
Go a step further and abandon their platform. Don't financially support their behavior. Convince your clients to do the same.
floopidydoopidy··on Visual Studio Code 1.7.1
I'm shilling for anti-shilling.
floopidydoopidy··on Visual Studio Code 1.7.1
Because Microsoft pays people to shill for them on media sources like Hackernews.
floopidydoopidy··on Apple demolished by Microsoft at PC events
Agreed. Hacker News has jumped the shark.
floopidydoopidy··on Intrinsic: An Open-Source, Cross-Platform Vulkan Game Engine
Because it says 'Cross-Platform' and is anything but with that requirement.
floopidydoopidy··on Intrinsic: An Open-Source, Cross-Platform Vulkan Game Engine
Is Visual Studio truly a requirement? If so, no thanks.
floopidydoopidy··on “No, I'm the ex-CEO of Reddit because eventually there was too much bullshit.”
So is Hacker News. And Slashdot. And reddit... The internet is dead.
floopidydoopidy··on Microsoft Shares Soar to Record on Earnings Boost From Cloud
I disagree that anything is better. They're incrementally keeping up with technology. In fact, from my perspective, it feels like they hold us all back by leveraging their hold on offices.
floopidydoopidy··on Microsoft SQL Server 2016 Express
Be a hero and free your company from lock in, otherwise you'll be the next person referred to as "the predeccessor [who] fell for lock in".
floopidydoopidy··on The Myers-Briggs Personality Test Is Pretty Much Meaningless
I agree that it has a use: it helps identify gullible people. Extremely valuable in that regard.
floopidydoopidy··on Free Client for OneDrive on Linux
Embrace!
floopidydoopidy··on Would You Take an 8% Pay Cut to Work from Home?
I would take an 8% paycut to be free of the nonsensical 9-5 schedule.
floopidydoopidy··on Qt Quick Controls 2.1 and Beyond
I've only built front ends in QtCreator and Visual Studio WPF, but after getting over the initial QT way of doing things, I find it delightful. It's C++, though. So it's definitely weird in that uniquely weird C++ way.
floopidydoopidy··on Say hello to Google Allo: a smarter messaging app
I feel like ICQ 98 was the pinnacle of chat applications. Floating contacts and email style messages... brilliance.

They see all things that flourish outside their control as competition.

Still going to support Canadian cities? I noticed that Zumper doesn't.
floopidydoopidy··on The Insults of Age
I find it's quite the opposite for me. Women find me significantly less attractive now that I'm in my mid thirties.
floopidydoopidy··on Native Intelligence: The Indians who feasted with the English colonists (2005)
I thought it was going to be an interesting perspective article about the Indians who supported and profited from British rule of India.
floopidydoopidy··on Native Intelligence: The Indians who feasted with the English colonists (2005)
I'm not offended. It's just silly that today it's still used.
floopidydoopidy··on Native Intelligence: The Indians who feasted with the English colonists (2005)
"Indians".. really?
floopidydoopidy··on “The Dream of Internet Freedom Is Dying”
I think it's a side effect of the eternal September. There was a time in my life when I had to convince people that email was important. Now, it's old news and even the slowest adopters have seen the light provided by the internet.

One day, someone will invent something cooler than the internet, and no one but the super technically minded will use it, and it will be a new spring. But September will still be a few months away.
