faraggi··on Effective June 7, 2026, Autodesk will no longer sell nor support EAGLE
You should consider donating to it's OSS competitors. Still lots of catching up needed in the cad space.
faraggi··on Ask HN: Best way to play old games that require Windows 98/XP?
Where to get the correct sha?
faraggi··on Are blockchains decentralized?
This is such an ignorant and factually wrong comment.
faraggi··on Ask HN: Is anyone else glad the crypto market is crashing?
You failed to mention that despite those falls, it is still up 100s of times its initial value. This comment is worse than the media trying to portray a specific story by presenting data partially.
faraggi··on NFT projects are just MLMs for tech elites
Anything crypto related being discussed in HN is worthless. Nothing to see here people.
faraggi··on Convert Markdown to a Mind Map
Pretty cool! I suggest adding a github link to https://github.com/gera2ld/markmap-lib in the about page and homepage.
faraggi··on Xbox co-creator Rob Wyatt sues Atari for failure to pay for VCS console design
Nothing inherently wrong with crypto itself, but yeah that project looks really scammy and has little to do with Atari, IMO.
faraggi··on Python dicts are now ordered
I've always thought this was a bit annoying in Python, good to know a (very) small itch is now scratched.
faraggi··on FAA Finds New Risk on 737 Max, Orders Boeing to Make Changes
The question asked in 14:05 was super clear, and he repeated like a parrot the same thing he had said earlier during the press conference.
faraggi··on IPv6 Adoption
I'm not very knowledgeable in IPv6 adoption. Why do you think that?
faraggi··on Interactive Mind Map for learning
Cool idea, but not _really_ interactive.

Being an etherum fan, it was amusing to see only ethereum listed in the decentralized computing category (https://my.mindnode.com/mxFpyqEV2YXLGBoLgUBydSWkB1qdXqzvbqzQ...)

faraggi··on Both geniuses and madmen pay attention to what others ignore
I don't know what he means. why 'fast idiot'?

All I come up with is you guys are lawyers?

faraggi··on Python moved to GitHub
Anbody know what happend to Guido's contributions between 2008-2012?

Maybe he had kids. :P

faraggi··on [dead]
Should be a typo for bitcoin.org.
faraggi··on Show HN: A visual guide to the most popular CSS properties
I'm on an xps 13 2016 and it runs just fine. Guess you just have to upgrade. /s
faraggi··on Scientist discovers particular seaweed nearly eliminates cow methane emissions
What were the conclusions of your research?
faraggi··on Music for Programming
I am, and I do as well.
faraggi··on Music for Programming
...slightly of subject:

I love programming with classical music. Classic guitar music in particular, but any classical will do. I rarely listen to classical other than when driving or when coding.

faraggi··on I Am Fully Capable of Entertaining Myself in Prison for Decades If Need Be
> because they kept taking away his books and papers This is very worrying. There is a (light?) documentary[1] which compares nordic and american prisons which tries to compare both systems. Both have totally different operational philosophies ergo, results.

Very interesting watch but probably even better if coupled with more insightful reading.

faraggi··on This Is What Python Beginners Have to Deal With
I see many people like python docs, and I agree, but the article talks about the difficulty for __beginners__.

That being said, maybe the python docs need something equivalent of wikipedia's 'Simple English' definitions.

Maybe by adding a 'simple' prefix (ie: simple.docs.python.org/3.5/library/re.html) that takes us to the very simplified version of the current documentation. Links to the in-depth docs are obviously necessary as well.

faraggi··on Rotoscoped Animation of Filmed Parkour
> I think this is an okay result, coming from a programmer with coarse drawing ability and zero prior experience of animating things.

Very humble conclusion, I think its a great result and I'd be more than proud it that were my first work of any kind.

faraggi··on Why Microsoft is turning into an open-source company
Couldn't they theoretically open source most of the OS? But keep some stuff under key?
faraggi··on Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway Takes $1B Position in Apple
Those seem like valid suppositions, but I do think you're missing a big variable.

(I think) you only take into account the US Market but the emerging world is late to the party and should represent a big piece of the pie. It hasn't reached majority tech adoption nor is it no longer hip.

That said, I also think its a loosing move because of the downwards trend in AAPL stock- bit that's only layman's conjecture. I guess it depends for how long they want to hold it.

faraggi··on As venture capital dries up, tech startups discover frugality
I might be generalizing, but I get the feeling this is how world-wide start ups have operated for a long time. The reality I've seen (in France and Chile) is quite different from what I've heard of Silicon Valley Startups.
faraggi··on Craig Steven Wright claims to be Satoshi Nakamoto
I don't want to sound like a nerd-snob, but isn't weird that the potential Satoshi Nakamoto uses Windows and notepad? http://www.drcraigwright.net/jean-paul-sartre-signing-signif...

I mean, to each his own- especially when talking about dev tools- so why not I guess?

faraggi··on Brutalist Websites
I agree.

I've always associated craiglist and 4chan with the brutalist movement.

faraggi··on Show HN: Muki, music streaming from MIDI and chiptunes
Very sleek site that brings back old memories.
