drostie - Regardless of the commentary that inspired your response, your response was an inspired bit of commentary.

Would read again. A+++ =)

I'm reading this right now, and I'll second the vote. One of the more Orwellian/absurd fun-facts I've come across: The two biggest department stores in the DPRK are called Department Store No. 1 and Department Store No. 2. (I'm sure there's some clever joke about marketing/branding in there) Like the OP said - it's mysterious and completely fascinating.

It's been a great book thus far.

eyepulp··on IdeaPaint allows you to write all over the wall
We've got this in the conference room at our office. The first time we put it on we did not sand the walls smooth enough before painting, And it ended up being difficult to dry erase. We re-sanded & reapplied the paint, and it's been fantastic.

Also handy for entertaining visiting nieces and nephews or our employees' kids.

eyepulp··on Django REST framework 2.3 released: ViewSets and Routers
The boilerplate was exactly why I went with Tasty-Pie recently, but seeing some of the updates, I might have to revisit that decision. Your documentation is great, btw.

Side note -- the updated urls.py example in the README.md references "views.UserViewSet" but in the context of the example should just be "UserViewSet"... I think. I sent a pull request - ignore if I had it all wrong.

Well said =) It's incredibly frustrating to so easily build the entire app with a "traditional" django stack and then be faced with solving for a whole new stack just to avoid wasteful XHR-polling for some simple server-side event driven UI updates.

We've implemented some SSE based solutions lately with gevent & nginx in front of django, and it's been great to keep it all in the django family.

Maybe switching to py3k has some value after all... =)

eyepulp··on Schema Migrations for Django
Thanks for doing this Andrew - our company uses South daily, and I've griped about a lack of a core Django migration capability from day one. It's a pleasure to support such a specific and useful project. Money well spent.
