eusman··on Best way to clean LCDs?
heh they code with their eyes closed
eusman··on Yang's Yahoo comeback plan
they've been changing titles for quite some time when they believe its necessary, almost since the beggining
eusman··on Nginx and Memcached, an easy 400% boost in req/s
what kind of caching? why would you want a web server cache that would eat up memory? what you need is an independent distributed dumb cache in memcached terms.
eusman··on Bill Gates demos Xobni
now i know why MS didn't manage to compete with Google. They still have their focus on desktop.

Thats ok. It's better for web startups.

Bill Gates used YouTube too before Google buy it, but MS went with creating their own video site..

eusman··on GPhone Prototype Debuts At Mobile World Congress
"Samsung said yesterday that it won’t debut an Android powered phone until 2009"

and Nokia has its own platform anyway..

So, this thing as it is, is already dead in Europe

eusman··on Windows Firewall [Pic]
hopefully paradise will have Windows Firewall
eusman··on How scalable is one web server?
Weebly is becoming a proof of concept. That you can withstand pressures of companies like Google when you outperform their own similar products.
eusman··on TipJoy Launches (YC winter 08)
critisism is not bad, letting it go by without analysing it or affecting your perfomance is.
eusman··on Why Social Ads Don't Work
that seems correct. the same reason the revenue in youtube is so low
eusman··on Microsoft is 2000 times less effective than Google; Yahoo Board seems to be insane

eusman··on Microsoft is 2000 times less effective than Google; Yahoo Board seems to be insane
ui is not always about being good looking as it about being functional. UI/experience design is totally differnt from graphic design and i see a lot of people confusing it still. (which is why u dont want a graphic designer design your ui but instead a hacker with a good taste can build a better ui)
eusman··on Javascript obsfucation
of course it can reverse engineered and of course it can be recreated but why at least not make it a bit harder for them by obsfucating the code. Good programmers wont bother copy your code anyway. Its those who will try to copy your code byte by byte you wont to discourage and obsfuctating is a good obstacle for these people.
eusman··on Microsoft to acquire Ustream.tv for $50 million?
it wont, the pie is quite big. for newcomers it'd be moore difficult yeah. It'll be interesting if YouTube/Google reacts by adding live streams.
eusman··on Smjörið er brætt og hveitið smátt og smátt hrært út í það, þangað til það er gengið upp í smjörið.
yeah i confused that with ISO 10646 (has the 3 levels which specify unicode, not all levels support the same characters) and UCS2, which UCS2 is essentially UTF-16, so i meant if he used any characters bytecoded in UTF-16 essentially he'd have a problem, although utf-8 doesnt support certain octets. UTF-8/16 were not yet part of the standard before UCS version 2.0. Been a while I guess since i got updated
eusman··on Smjörið er brætt og hveitið smátt og smátt hrært út í það, þangað til það er gengið upp í smjörið.
http://www.unicode.org/charts/ (characters)

http://www.unicode.org/charts/symbols.html (geometrical shapes etc)

As I understand only UTF-8 is supported, so forget characters for UTF-16 and UTF-32 (but you rarely need these anyway)

eusman··on Ask YC: What do you think is the future of Android?
whatever prediction we make has more probability to cancel it self than happening.
eusman··on Ask YC: I just quit Microsoft to work on this product full-time. What's your brutal feedback?
oh sorry, i just realised that the window of offscreen, so i didnt see them
eusman··on Ask YC: I just quit Microsoft to work on this product full-time. What's your brutal feedback?
i find interesting that your other site phonemyphone.com is not using your own ads
eusman··on Google launches Wufoo competitor
the feature-set of Google's forms sounds like it was something they are using within Google and they just realised it to the public.
eusman··on Rumor: Is Google About to Buy Bebo For $1 Billion To $1.5 Billion? Or Will it Be MySpace?
thats the kind of fairy tales that made me stop visiting techcrunch, except if I click a link here...

anyone who has stats with rumours they got wrong?

eusman··on 2008 Startup School April 19. Confirmed so far: Andreessen, Bezos, DHH
justin.tv could have a live link for the rest of us? maybe?
eusman··on Has college dropout done the impossible and created a perpetual motion machine?
other articles imply it does give a boost.

is it a definite no?

eusman··on Ask YC: Would YC.Newsers try a web service that works only on IE?
of what i know of IE suffers from certain memory leakage issues and that alone makes you write more careful JS code, that is if you are aware of them. So, if you can avoid these and achieve satisfactory functionality between all recent versions of IE (especially when putting these on their limits) , you can later fix your code working for Mozzila. Of course you could do it simultaniously but would it worth to lose even more time in cotrast of going online. (not a .NET. fan)
eusman··on Ask YC: Would YC.Newsers try a web service that works only on IE?
depends on what you consider cost. Cost to fix or cost in numbers of users.
eusman··on Ask YC: Would YC.Newsers try a web service that works only on IE?
it's not much of being IE centric as to designing an api first and insteaad of losing time on stupid JS/DOM dependancies (things you can fix later for less cost), just get it maybe to most users for whom IE is the internet.
eusman··on Ask YC: Would YC.Newsers try a web service that works only on IE?
I suppose this will be the general reaction here. If it's possible we could we have of an insight to YC.news stats of what the majority uses here, I guess Firefox/Safari wins over IE?
eusman··on Google's Chief Legal Officer on Microsoft's acquisition of Yahoo
maybe this is what they want them to think, that they are scared so that they do this merger.

It's useless to read/analyse something you don't know who wrote it because it's impossible to understand the motives.
