euniceee3··on Two pharmacists figured out that oral phenylephrine doesn't work
Lol they did not buy the precursor, they stole it.

Had this same conversation with someone missing a number of teeth, they reported that chicken feed contains pseudoephedrine and is able to be collected by using a piece of wood as a capillary sieve.

euniceee3··on The economics of all-you-can-eat buffets (2020)
I smell a new startup!

And really this would depend on a rich freeze drying industry. Imagine people driving around in trucks collecting all the uneaten scraps from children and adults plates. Sure we would not be able to handle to food safely, but we will be exporting it to countries that do not have as stringent laws on human consumption.

euniceee3··on DoorDash raises minimum pay to $29.93 per hour in NYC
Depends on the markup. As a person who earns a decent wage I cannot afford to eat delivery food casually as the markup on a per item basis is steep. Even the good pizza place costs near me is $43 for a single large with 4 toppings, with delivery it is closer to $50.
euniceee3··on DoorDash raises minimum pay to $29.93 per hour in NYC
Seems to be more of a exploitive targeting of mentally ill people. Super sad to see how many young people are ordering from apps like this and not able to afford any sort of decent quality of life without some for of subsidies.
euniceee3··on Apple plans to equip MacBooks with in-house cellular modems
MDM access. All Pixel phones hit an MDM endpoint to determine if it should be provisioned.
euniceee3··on Debunking the Myth of "Anonymous" Data
Great article putting all the relevant content in one place. Does anyone know of any de-anonymization services? The startup I am working at is privacy focused and we are looking for a way to demonstrate why you need an additional layer to protect and compartmentalize.

Short of us buying up data in bulk and then doing the de-anonymization in-house I am not seeing an easy way to do this. Or even an advertised partner, seems like all the articles are really careful to not do free marketing for companies in this space.

euniceee3··on Wisconsin couple has old phones and nobody to buy them
Totally agree. Some of the older stuff used to be worth money, but seems like they were not focused on sales/marketing.

Just to haul it all off to the dump would cost a fair amount.

I think they need to hire a zoomer on commission to promote the phones on TikTok and shilling them away with the bluetooth adapter being free. Tie this in with a giant telephone art project to draw folks in.

euniceee3··on We have used too many levels of abstractions
Agree with you here. Also need the frameworks to scale work out to a team.

But that is what subdomains are for, dashboard.example.com will deal with all that over head, but forcing the marketing-friedly splash page on example.com to be in React is overkill.

euniceee3··on Town Repeatedly Surveilled Man's Yard with Drone Without a Warrant
Two sides to this, the operator could have requested clearance of the airspace to fly above 500' OR the township should have hired a fixed wing aircraft to photograph this.

Wonder if the township will recoup that $1200?

euniceee3··on Qaul – Internet independent wireless mesh communication app
100% agree. This is the same way a baseband exploit would be deployed. Would be really neat to see a proof of concept of this. And wonder what sort of filtering the telcos would introduce.
euniceee3··on CA Gov. Newsom vetoes bill that would have decriminalized psychedelic mushrooms
You can buy mushrooms legally less than a mile from the White House.
euniceee3··on CA Gov. Newsom vetoes bill that would have decriminalized psychedelic mushrooms
Agree with you 100%.

Modern shrooms are stronger than they were in the past due to selective breeding and growing. Around 4x stronger. Educating the consumer on this will be difficult, the "I usually eat an 8th" crowd will be who is going to be helped more. Their are commercial tests for this very thing, to the point where once you know how strong a strain is you will be able to dose it according to volume of ground product. Complicating this is the fact that if you eat an orange then it makes the product even stronger. No clue how to solve all this, just know it is a real issue.

Other side of this is that ketamine therapies are being ran out of old dentist offices with zero therapeutic guidelines TODAY. They are selling snake oil and letting folks not get the break throughs they deserve.

euniceee3··on A Raspberry Pi 5 is better than two Pi 4S
Any ideas on what it would take to accomplish this? Like how would the extra memory be allocated without a firmware change?
euniceee3··on HMD Global Starts Manufacturing in Europe with the ‘Made in Hungary’ Nokia XR21
What other reasons would make you leave the iPhone beyond the Google decoupling?
euniceee3··on Return to Office Is Bullshit and Everyone Knows It
In person I can walk by the person and see if they are available for a quick chat. Typing a novel is a pain when a water cooler chat will work. IF the person is busy then you dont shoulder tap.
euniceee3··on OnlyOffice: Free open source office suite with business productivity tools
Only Office can run in a cloud-based capacity. Think Office 365 that is able to be self-hosted.
euniceee3··on Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses
Used these for a year. Great content, but the stabilization is trash. That and exporting without using the Snapchat app made me question if it is really worth sharing the most intimate moments.
euniceee3··on Meduza co-founder's phone infected with Pegasus
Phone numbers are not targets. Baseband is the big fear vector due to it being a black box, but in reality the apps themselves are being targeted where your phone number is the primary key.
euniceee3··on Dating app Grindr loses nearly half its staff after trying to force RTO
In the US they are federally required to provide severance if it meets certain conditions.

euniceee3··on Grindr Loses Almost Half Its Staff on 2-Day RTO Requirement
Less data can be grabbed from a web app, which is better for users.

Less apps going through the app store ecosystem means 30% lower rents if you can divorce the app store billing, which is better for the company.

I imagine a future where the webapp installs a PWA to mitigate the rent-seeking app stores. But I am sure the app stores would insert a clause preventing a "lite" version of PWA's to be installed.

euniceee3··on Using disposable phone numbers for better security
Get another SIM card for the real number. The next block you will hit is needing a real credit/debit card to allow them to do KYC on you.
euniceee3··on Beating GPT-4 on HumanEval with a fine-tuned CodeLlama-34B
So for huge log files would the entire thing be feed in with the offending lines of previous log files identified files in 4096 chunked tokens? Any one got a better workflow for training based on the above scenario? These log files are multiple MBs within a few minutes from the Android kernel.
euniceee3··on Fixing the TPM: Hardware Security Modules Done Right
Even then you are yellow booting and that is another security issue.

What dumbphones you looking at? Everything retail I am seeing is a stripped down version of Android.

euniceee3··on Want employees to return to the office? Then give each one an office
100% this. Remote first company and there are two offices. We get more done with in-person casual conversations than formal meetings. Our velocity from the office is significantly higher. I wish some of the other teams shared offices a few days per week.

The commute is not bad when they are localized due to the team members having worked together in the past.

euniceee3··on Open-source canvas drawing web app, built using React
How do I scale proportionally. Typically this is done with the ctrl or shift key while dragging the corner.
euniceee3··on The 115F Heat Is Killing Phones in Sardinia
Is this an add-on case situation or IP play?
euniceee3··on New laws trying to criminalize filming cops
25' is fine if ALL officers involved have body cameras. Getting that footage should be as simple FOIL request. There needs to be a streamlined process for citizens to obtain footage as easy as it is to browse on Nextdoor.

The problem is when you have a police line established that is 25' from the action and then have to move back another 25'.

euniceee3··on Geothermal Ahead of Schedule
I am concerned about this as well. A number of geothermal projects in Nevada have reduced the flow of surrounding hot springs.

It sounds like they are doing injection, which is similar to what Bottle Rock is doing in the Calistoga mountains.

The real benefit I am hoping for is being able to revitalize the hot springs industry with soaking opportunities becoming more prevalent where they were not previously viable.

euniceee3··on Nothing Phone (2)
They have a huge number of employee's on LinkedIn due to the fact that people will use the company name of Nothing when they literally mean nothing.
euniceee3··on First U.S. ban on sale of cellphone location data might be coming
https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2019/12/20/opinion/locat...

This is the article I am building my hypothesis on. If I am able to correlate place of business with an out of town event like a conference and then further refine with gender and ethnic filters.

I understand that companies will perform this analysis on your behalf. Can anyone recommend a "reputable" one?
