Personally I liked it. Looking at those authentic, old, typewritten documents added a certain charm, and brought me back in time. I wish the "animated" segments were longer, and included audio, though. I was even looking for an "unmute" control on the first one.
I got to see them live with NIN I think in 2009 or 2010 (NINJA tour reunion or something like that), and despite being in a huge venue in Irvine, their stage presence was amazing. One of the best I've been. Great band.
I always thought it was a web app that functions reasonably even on older browsers with JS turned off (for example). Then the experience gets "progressively better" if you have a newer browser, and allow JS to execute.
Neat to think about, but a bit arrogant regarding our abilities. Each of those dams would have been a single point of failure, the failure of which would have meant utter devastation of a scale probably not seen... ever.
Yeah, eventually I figured it out. The trick was to start an exponential growth of probes by focussing on self-replication... then things started unlocking and it went on from there...
So I've obtained full autonomy, I've got clip factories and tons of drones, and they are mostly "thinking", bringing me gifts. the problem is, there are no more projects... Did I find a bug and get stuck, or am I supposed to be more patient? I don't see a way to level up any more..
Definitely cool, and I like the application of ARKit. But using ML to solve a sudoku seems like overkill. I remember writing a constraint-based solver as the first assignment for an undergrad-level AI course back in uni. Surely this implementation is less efficient? Someone let me know if I am wrong.
If the aim was to simply learn new tech, though, then I get it. I am just wary of ML being a hammer used on anything even remotely resembling a nail.
Heh. I was an intern there when this happened. In fact I think I was in the float in front of this one. To be honest this was blown out of proportion a bit. It was an internal celebration of release, and each team picked a theme. Most in good fun. In retrospect the funeral themed-one... yeah... didn't age well, and was perhaps in bad taste (I can't recall which team this was). It was just a bunch of overworked PMs, devs, and testers having some fun and blowing off steam.
I'm using a 4S as well, but have stuck with iOS 7. I've been pretty happy with my "outdated" apps until recently, when Skype (whom I may for a subscription) told me I need to upgrade my app to continue using the service. Unfortunately, there is no update available for iOS 7... Shame.
Props to those companies that continue to support older iOS versions. Notably Spotify.
Why do you consider "small-time SaaS products" as "unethical", if I may ask? They may be "potentially unethical" since you don't know exactly what they are doing with your data, but it's not for certain.
Since it's based on node-webkit, that will be difficult. I find it hard to understand why they thought building text editors in a web engine was a good idea. Cross-platform support seems to trump all other considerations.
