dsr12··on Advice on CIA website: “Your security and well being are our primary concerns”
From the site:

"Your security and well being are our primary concerns. By visiting this website from outside of the U.S. and contacting us, you may be subject to monitoring by security or intelligence services, or other third parties that do not adhere to U.S. Internet privacy laws. While we employ numerous safeguards to help minimize this risk, we suggest that you not use your home or work computer to contact us. Use instead a computer where you are entirely unknown. Although our website is encrypted, it is still possible for others to see that you have visited CIA.gov. As an added precaution, we recommend you use current web browsers and clean the computer's search and/or browser histories after you visit the website."

dsr12··on Founders at Work Interview: Steve Wozniak, Co-Founder, Apple Computer
"As a matter of fact, when we went public, I was a little disturbed that 5 people who had been with us in our little office from the start and had been so important—Randy Wigginton, Chris Espinosa, a couple of young kids, and a couple of older ones just hadn't gotten any stock. I felt that they were a part of this whole energy and excitement and passion for what computers were going to be and what we were doing and how right it was. If somebody is sitting there working till 2:00am with you, helping to write a little code, and says, "Wow that is a cool one," those words mean a lot to you and they deserve something. So I gave each of those 5 a large amount of stock, probably a million dollars in that day. And that was an early day for a million dollars."

Really respect him for doing the right thing.

dsr12··on Google Glass future clouded as some early believers lose faith
I think Google is betting more on "Magic Leap" than Glass. If "Magic Leap" is successful then I don't think Google will continue investing in Glass.

dsr12··on This CEO is out for blood
Loved this quote from her professor: “To me, I wish I wasn’t 70 years old. I wish I was her age and could be in on this. Because this is going to be a long, exciting, fascinating, exhilarating ride.”
dsr12··on Always get the bigger pizza
I don't get it. If someone is not hungry then what's the point of paying more for a larger pizza when you are probably not going to eat all of it. I am also surprised that we think it's fine to buy more than what we can eat just because we can pay for it!
dsr12··on Google Cloud SQL now available with an SLA, 500 GB databases, and encryption
As all data is encrypted when stored, I think it will have serious performance degradation for large databases. If it performs well then it will be interesting to know how Google is achieving that.

dsr12··on Government watchdog: Warrantless laptop searches at border are A-OK
Can they force people to reveal the password of an encrypted disk or a Truecrypt container? If someone refuses to give the password can they be denied entry into the country?

I think Truecrypt hidden volumes can be useful in such cases.

dsr12··on Traveling Salesman: the most misunderstood problem
TL;DR: For now TSP-OPTIMIZE is in NP-Hard but not (necessarily) in NP, so its not in NP-Complete. TSP-DECIDE is both in NP-Hard as well as NP, and is therefore NP-Complete.
