dschulz··on Qt Quick Controls 2.1 and Beyond
Not if you don't explicitly link against the relevant modules. That is usually done by adding a few entries in the Qt project file (qmake) and then including the headers.

dschulz··on A smart plug to monitor your router and automatically reset power if WiFi fails
Exactly. There are a few MikroTik routers for less than $60. They are all rock solid and full of functionality, including watchdog timer.

dschulz··on “Systemd should not default to using time{1,2,3,4}.google.com”
That was anything but "dismissive". He clearly explains his reasoning.
dschulz··on Nexus 6
Using the N5 I already have a problem distinguishing the top from the bottom at a glance. I'm sure with the new design this will be much more than a minor nuisance.

Yay! Can't wait to download an even bigger package to update my browser.. now with plenty of features I don't need. Looking forward to the {emacs,Lua,Perl}-embedded-Firefox!
dschulz··on Debian committee members vote for systemd as init system
That's not compelling.
dschulz··on Nexus 5
Same thing in Paraguay. I managed to get a Nexus 4 from Amazon before, but I can't even buy apps from the Play Store.
dschulz··on Hostnames
`kill -l` gives a nice list. I'm writing this from sigsegv.

Oh, that explains very well what I was thinking about those bible cites..

Outrageous. I can't accept things like this are still happening in 2013. Please tell me that you at least considered leaving your country.

dschulz··on Serve Your Music Collection Using HTML5, Backbone, and Flask
I ran into this problem as well. It seems that the filesystem paths should not contain non-ASCII characters. In my case, my music is stored in ~/Música and scan.py fails on every single audio file it finds.

> ProgrammingError: (ProgrammingError) You must not use 8-bit bytestrings unless you use a text_factory that can interpret 8-bit bytestrings (like text_factory = str). It is highly recommended that you instead just switch your application to Unicode strings. u'SELECT songs.filename AS songs_filename, songs.id AS songs_id, songs.title AS songs_title, songs.album AS songs_album, songs.artist AS songs_artist, songs.mimetype AS songs_mimetype, songs.year AS songs_year, songs.track AS songs_track, songs.disc AS songs_disc, songs.lastmodified AS songs_lastmodified, songs.filesize AS songs_filesize, songs.length AS songs_length \nFROM songs \nWHERE songs.filename = ?'
