Not in any notes: they removed the Android widget. Coincidentally, so did DuckDuckGo today. :(
dschep··on Show HN: The Missing GitHub Feature: Treeview for PRs
Oh, I didn't realize this one worked without that. I guess it uses the DOM rather than the API.
dschep··on Show HN: The Missing GitHub Feature: Treeview for PRs
Also an option: OctoTree [0], which adds tree view to github PRs too, as well as the source browser.

dschep··on Announcing Go Support for AWS Lambda
Probably. That's exactly what some folks did to use the Python runtime to run Go before it was officially supported: https://github.com/eawsy/aws-lambda-go
dschep··on Announcing Go Support for AWS Lambda
Yeah, that's probably the worst part of 'serverless computing.'

If using the serverless framework, the serverless-offline plugin[0] supports JS/Node but not Python.

dschep··on MedleyText
Has this been abandoned? The MedlyText+S page says it'll be available last month.
dschep··on Guide to Serverless Architecture
You have to make a choice at some level of the stack, for me, that was serverless as the deployment framework. You could probably use terraform or ansible + some custom scripts, but then you could argue you're locked into terraform or ansible ;)

The login thing isn't actually necessary (or if it is, that's new)

dschep··on Show HN: Tool for visualizing GitHub profiles
How many requests does it require per user? When I built my license checker[0] I went with making requests straight from the browser to Github. It has a lower rate limit, but it's per-client, not tied to an API key.

The post isn't loading so I don't know exactly what it's in reference to (AWS lambda, the framework, the more generic idea?). But, the serverless framework[0] supports all major cloud providers (AWS, Google, & Azure) as well as self-hostable options like OpenWhisk and Kubeless.

Sure, if that's what it did, but that's not what it looks like it does. (no auth flow and they're on totally different domains)
dschep··on Show HN: Dependabot – Automated Dependency Update PRs for Ruby, JS, Python and PHP
Awesome! You should add that, along with what looks like cleaner yarn.lock support than greenkeeper has, to your landing page under some sort of features section since this isn't the first product in this space and people will be looking for differentiating features :)
dschep··on Show HN: Dependabot – Automated Dependency Update PRs for Ruby, JS, Python and PHP
Does it support Pipfile? I'd happily switch from pyup.io or requires.io if it does.

Edit: ooh, I see its oss and this search indicates Pipfile support is likely: https://github.com/dependabot/dependabot-core/search?utf8=%E...

dschep··on Show HN: Authian – Open Source 2-Factor Authentication Using Instant Messengers
Where is said source? The Github & Gitlab orgs are empty. Seems like this post is a bit premature.

dschep··on DC's I-66 express lanes debut with $34.50 toll, among the highest in U.S
Oh, I thought the tolling was during the same hours as the previous HOV limitations. I admit, I haven't paid very close attention.
dschep··on DC's I-66 express lanes debut with $34.50 toll, among the highest in U.S
Why does all coverage and outrage about this seem to ignore the fact that it used to be HOV ONLY before, and now HOV is still free? A $35 toll is still less than the $125 ticket you used to get if driving alone.
dschep··on Ask HN: How do you stay healthy?
Commute pretty much anyway but door-to-door driving. Bike, walk, walk to transit, bike to transit, etc. Just that small amount makes a huge difference since you do it every single day.

Since when? I was under the impression it's a data science focused alternative to the standard tools(pip, venv module, eventually pipenv).

dschep··on Dragon Helmet: Open-source collaboration that aims to create a high tech helmet
> I'm not sure if it's intended to be used on a bike

You're correct: https://github.com/DragonComputer/dragon.computer/issues/1

dschep··on Dragon Helmet: Open-source collaboration that aims to create a high tech helmet
Yup. I asked on their issue tracker and the creator clarified: https://github.com/DragonComputer/dragon.computer/issues/1
dschep··on Goodbye Uncanny Valley [video]
Agreed. And I always associated the uncanny valley with representations of humans, not terrain, robots, etc.
dschep··on Dragon Helmet: Open-source collaboration that aims to create a high tech helmet
What? To me nothing about those first two sentences(or any of the other sentences) indicate it's a moto helmet. The pictures sure do, but none of the text makes this clear it's for motorcycles instead of bicycles.

dschep··on CircleCI trusts 8 analytics companies with your source code and API tokens
Yup. Especially given OPs comments:

> To be clear, letting third party JS run in a trusted environment like a dashboard is an industry wide problem. If we assume CircleCI is the only bad actor we're kind of missing the point of the exercise.

dschep··on When Citi Bikes Are Faster Than Taxis in New York City
Absolutely! I'm in DC, not NYC, but..

Driving means: walk 1-3 blocks to my car, drive it in slow(and extremely variable based on time) traffic, circle the block a half dozen times to find a parking space, probably having to pay.

Biking on the other hand means: I walk outside, bike where I'm going at the same speed every day, and lock up when I get there.

I've frequently beaten my friends when going places in the city and I have my bike and don't wanna leave it behind so I bike and they cab/drive.
