YouTube at least were honest. Broadcast yourself, I remember them saying.

why? Go for a walk in the woods instead. Spend more time IRL.

Or alcohol, or whatever others are doing. In Italy, where I live, people on the ‘left’ side of the political spectrum (let’s say ‘progressives’) tend to think it’s perfectly ok to smoke dope, irregardless of what any scientific study may or may not say. This seems very weird to me.

Please tell us here if you decide to sell them.

If only they were able to build the infrastructure to charge for this...

it opens up opportunities for smaller companies that don't want to or cannot afford to venture in AI-search: DuckDuckGo, Brave Search, Mojeek, Qwant etc.

> But what the SpaceX/Anthropic deal showed was even if you fall short, you can profit by selling off your overcapacity.

Do you have proof that the deal is profitable (and for how long?) for SpaceX ?

Meta is just another company that, like xAI/Grok, is at last starting to face reality: there are going to be two or three winners in this space, and they are not one of them.

Data centers in the sky to serve porn.

That would indeed be a huge improvement over the current situation, with 98.5% of repos hosted directly by bsky (!)

Reminds me of Animal Farm.

Socialism never took root in America because the poor see themselves not as an exploited proletariat but as temporarily embarrassed millionaires.

Really ?

But... if Waag are not self-hosting, and they're not, how likely is it that normal people will start doing so in relatively large numbers?

You win. Cloud repatriation engineer.

Amongst other things, AI won’t buy cars.

> For many people food is one of the few things in life that gives them some form of joy.

This is the problem to be addressed, not hoping for a miracle drug that will let you chuck down 5,000 calories a day and be healthy, imho.

The real shift happened in what BigFood started putting into their highly processed food, imho.

Good for you, but this mere fact does not mean it’s ideal.

Not a doctor, but I would at least try to look into this. Best of luck!

Wow. I wish you could find a way to do this without meds, but I certainly can’t blame you for taking them.

Now what?

Now it’s time to pay for a good email service, like Tuta, Proton or Fastmail.

Here is the company's website:

AFAIK, the FSB knocked on Durov’s previous company’s door, VKontakte, a Russian Facebook knock-off.

They asked for info on some of their users, were told “no” and… they told Durov that “it would be a good idea if you sold this thing to someone else”.

Which he did, for decent money but probably a lot less than it was worth. He then used that money to start Telegram, at first from Berlin and later on from Dubai, from 2017 I think.

VKontakte (VK) eventually created Max, a newish IM service that the tiger-fighting shortie at the Kremlin is pushing onto Russians, while trying to limit their use of Telegram, that is or at least was the standard in Russia.

It’s a feature, not a bug.

If all you sell is 5 phones, or even 500, the price doesn’t matter. A lemon is a lemon.

I have no idea how much it costs to produce this phone, but if you asked me how much it should cost, I'd say about 200 USD.

Well, somehow the laws of gravity don’t apply to SpaceX, nor to Tesla.

It’s as overpriced as the SpaceX IPO.
