It's humorous, but actually quite interesting as well. As a non-native english speaker I've learnt a lot watching it. Thanks.

dordoka··on Kubernetes: The Future of Deployment
Current is Docker 1.6.2, released about 20 days ago. There also was a 1.6.1. That makes it two versions. Also, v1.6.0 was released almost two months ago. [0]

dordoka··on Microsoft to stop producing Windows versions
Actually, they even include Windows 7, not only 8 or 8.1 [0]. I guess that "for the first year" will probably be extended as well...

Edit: if this [1] reuters article is true (I couldn't find a reference on Microsoft's site), they are also including pirated versions...

dordoka··on Understanding Docker Security and Best Practices
Regarding the -icc=false option, if you want to do it by default to all containers, just modify the docker daemon's options adding --iptables=false [0] and restart the daemon.

Simple and fast alternative to evernote I use right now for quick notes and links to gists and stuff. Will use it! Thanks for building this.
dordoka··on Microsoft announces Hyper-V Containers
That's what we do now: fat JARs, including all dependencies and use embedded app server. On top of that, we use docker containers so we can control de JVM version as well. The overhead is not that high and it gives us the benefit of knowing that the same container that the developer/jenkins tested is the one that passed QA and will run in production.
dordoka··on Microsoft announces Hyper-V Containers
While they are at it, they could create a posix compatible layer for Windows. That would really drive some conversion.

edit: after rereading my comment and seeing the downvotes, just to clarify, it was a serious, not negative suggestion. :)

dordoka··on Microsoft announces Hyper-V Containers
Thanks for your reply spullara. We might be one of those rare cases where we do need different packages and libraries for each applications. It's the pain that we have to suffer having to maintain several "legacy" apps.

Regarding your view on an app server being a container of some sort, I do agree. We are actually starting to develop apps to be run using embeded app servers (with Spring Boot), as it fits better when running apps using docker.

dordoka··on Microsoft announces Hyper-V Containers
Thanks a lot for your answer. We create a separate container for each application, as it seemed like the correct approach. In our company we do have several "levels" of library (even jvm) version requirements. Containers have been very helpful to easy the pain that was managing that on the server side.
dordoka··on Microsoft announces Hyper-V Containers
Could you please explain what kind of issues did you find running tomcat/jboss inside containers? We've been running several apps on docker and so far no problem. Thanks a lot in advance.

Synology has also just announced Docker support on DSM 5.2 beta [1], so we could also run Gogs as a docker image :)

dordoka··on 1Password on Linux
I actually run the windows latest version of 1Password under Wine on Ubuntu 14.10 and it works perfectly. I just use the app GUI, not the browser addon so I cannot comment on that.

On top of that, it would be awesome if you could release the repo with the source, makefiles and stuff...

dordoka··on Docker and the PID 1 zombie reaping problem
Care to share your CI tech stack? Specially the deployment bit automagically updating the balancer. We are internally building that kind of setup at the moment and some insight from experienced people like you would be very helpful. Thanks.
dordoka··on Google News to shut down in Spain
It´s actually no overstatement. The law includes a clause specifically to avoid that, stating that paying the tax is an "inalienable right". Of course, as the law reads, it´s more an obligation that a right... As a spanish citizen, I´m equally ashamed and enraged of this old-fashioned, short-sighted and conservative law.

dordoka··on New Apple Macbook Pro RAM is soldered to the motherboard | Ian Chilton
Not only RAM, SSD is SATA III, but using a different form factor and a proprietary connector, a la Macbook Air. The new Air also changed the already proprietary connector from the 2011 models, rendering unusable the existing third party SSD upgrade options. Wondering if MacbookPro SSD connector are the same as the new Air's or not...
