dontdoxxme··on Anonymous Source Shared Leaked Google Search API Documents
And it's Apache licensed, which grants a patent license. Some of the comments refer to specific aspects of how page rank is calculated. Pagerank itself is past patent protection but I wonder if this also accidentally might grant licenses to other patents.
dontdoxxme··on Notepad Tab
They do, so in theory everything after the '#' is not sent, however it frequently sends a request to "https://notepadtab.com/cdn-cgi/rum?" which is part of Cloudflare Analytics (https://www.cloudflare.com/en-au/web-analytics/). The payload includes "timingsV2" data, which leaks the hash part to the server.

Ansible is great if you have workflows where sysadmins SSH to servers manually. It can pretty much take that workflow and automate it.

The problem is it doesn’t go much beyond that, so you’re limited by SSH roundtrip latency and it’s a pain to parallelize (you end up either learning lots of options or mitogen can help). However fundamentally you’re still SSHing to machines, when really at scale you want some kind of agent on the machine (although ansible is a reasonable way to bootstrap something else).

If you watch for long enough they also sometimes fail to stop. So just like a real city too.
dontdoxxme··on Apple confirms it's breaking iPhone web apps in the EU on purpose
Probably easier to leave the EU than get Apple to listen.

This is really abuse of public infrastructure if you really want to do this, look at veilid (https://veilid.com/). Veilid provides modern crypto primitives to do this and more importantly the people running the network actually want you to use it like this.
dontdoxxme··on Increasing QUIC and UDP Throughput over Tailscale
Not sure if serious. Tailscale is end to end encrypted.

Cloudflare is probably just this generation’s Crypto AG: https://www.agwa.name/blog/post/cloudflare_ssl_added_and_rem...

dontdoxxme··on Tell HN: Vim Has Autocomplete
Ctrl-X Ctrl-L is line based completion, see :help CTRL-X_CTRL-L for details.

:help ins-completion gets the useful docs, Vim's own docs are very good and worth spending some time learning how to use, so you can learn Vim itself better.

Another favorite of mine is 'gf' to open the filename under the cursor, very useful combined with ^X ^F.

Omni completion is also useful: https://vim.fandom.com/wiki/Omni_completion although you're better off with plugin that uses LSP now, for example https://github.com/dense-analysis/ale

“Modern convention” that is defined in RFC 20 (https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc20.html), from 1969 (referencing the ASCII standard from 1968).
dontdoxxme··on Some new snippets from the Snowden documents
Maybe not cool. There’s discussion in many places, but see https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=13891900 for background.
dontdoxxme··on How to build a IP geolocation database from scratch?
geofeed is used by big CDNs, it can actually help save money for the provider by meaning a CDN uses a more optimal network location.
dontdoxxme··on How to build a IP geolocation database from scratch?
https://ensa.fi/papers/geolocation_imc17.pdf has some ideas.

Using RIPE atlas probes to get RTT to the IPs from known locations is close to your idea and probably the best anyway.

Also individual airpods please, for those of us, who, have, ahem, washed an airpod. (Secondhand case, sure, secondhand airpod... ew)
dontdoxxme··on Russia Starts Blocking VPN Protocols
That approach, while convenient is not safe. It does not guarantee non-TCP traffic will be proxied. (You can test with a “WebRTC leak tester”.)
