dnnddidiej··on Apple Silicon costs less than OpenRouter
Yeah I would expect less
dnnddidiej··on Apple Silicon costs less than OpenRouter
As you would expect? It is also cheaper than EC2 for general compute.
dnnddidiej··on The last six months in LLMs in five minutes
Head to head is interesting. I had not tried 2 agents on the same task simulateniously with 2 models.
dnnddidiej··on The last six months in LLMs in five minutes
Also LinkedIn wars of people trying to claim throne as most AI-pilled, throwing down strawmen stories of luddites yelling at data centres who'll lose their job to a single person doing 100x work.
dnnddidiej··on Ask an Astronaut: 333 hours of Q&A footage with astronauts

dnnddidiej··on Elon Musk has lost his lawsuit against Sam Altman and OpenAI
Wasn't an arms length transaction so shennanigans (or lack of) cannot be proved.

(This is just a thought IANAL)

dnnddidiej··on Elon Musk has lost his lawsuit against Sam Altman and OpenAI
Out interest how does it work with new evidence then? I guess in civil less likely than criminal (new DNA technology etc.)
dnnddidiej··on Elon Musk has lost his lawsuit against Sam Altman and OpenAI
Or like if a piece of evidence was obtained lawfully?

I can understand why people and me included might think they can decide this before trial.

dnnddidiej··on Anthropic acquires Stainless
AI companies are the new tech companies
dnnddidiej··on GenCAD
Nix to give you reproducable builds. Docker to bundle.

Docker files alone is usually full of aptgets and curlshs. Which might be why the docker image wont build.

dnnddidiej··on WriteUp: 16 Bytes of x86 that turn Matrix rain into sound
I thought this was going to convert a matrix rain into sound but it does visual and sound. Amazing. And it is almost like a decent track, music is going round in my head now.

Is this a program or a secret key that unlocks a beast? Not sure!

dnnddidiej··on GenCAD
That thing is called Nix
dnnddidiej··on Tesla Solar Roof is on life support as it pivot to panels

Then why have tax at all?

Answer to that is indeed this is tax expenditure.

Although rounding error compared to the war.

dnnddidiej··on Two EA-18 fighter jets collide at Mountain Home airshow, pilots ejected safely
So fast they shit their pants as the chutes were deployed.
dnnddidiej··on Ask an Astronaut: 333 hours of Q&A footage with astronauts
This is fun. The question -> video flow could be so useful for many other things.
dnnddidiej··on Ask HN: What LLM models are you using and why?
Opus 4.6. Does the job. Not much of an experimenter.
dnnddidiej··on We've made the world too complicated
I think they are including the whole stack. Even the written word!
dnnddidiej··on A 0-click exploit chain for the Pixel 10
Phishing is big business and ways to combat are not fool proof. Education helps. Spam detection helps.
dnnddidiej··on OpenAI is connecting ChatGPT to bank accounts via Plaid
Kim Jong-il approves!
dnnddidiej··on We've made the world too complicated
Here... take a blue pill. Go back to your cube. Produce.
dnnddidiej··on We've made the world too complicated
To me they are saying more than that. They are saying we have created a world out of tune with outselves. We don't know what we even want but we think it is progress.
dnnddidiej··on SQL patterns I use to catch transaction fraud
If they don't then this is a good detection system for a very specific scenario (but nonetheless a good trick)
dnnddidiej··on SQL patterns I use to catch transaction fraud
> If a card swipes in Chicago and seven minutes later swipes in Los Angeles, one of those swipes is fake. The card is cloned. This is the most uncontroversial fraud signal you’ll find — there’s almost no legitimate reason a single card is in two distant places in seven minutes.
dnnddidiej··on The bird eye was pushed to an evolutionary extreme
Would be great for modern humans as plenty of calories available for an inefficient but better vision eye.
dnnddidiej··on SQL patterns I use to catch transaction fraud
2 can be genuine use. I let my partner use my card and I use it on my phone as rfid. Maybe ignore phone usages since they are secured pretty well.
dnnddidiej··on The sigmoids won't save you
Tldr you cant accurately predict the future of complex systems. Corollary... you cant accurately predict the future of complex systems using sigmoid.

Attention is all you need took us by surprise and we don't know how big the wave is let alone if there are other waves behind it.
