My only complaint is that my internal Python (awesome) vs. JavaScript (not so awesome but becoming standard) war gets tackled from a third side now. Another language to care about - not exactly what I needed.
Having said that: Nimrod looks beautiful and maybe it's time to hop on the bandwagon.
All other conecpts I know (http://sharejs.org/ , http://www.mobwrite.net/ and the likes) require a server.
Great Demo.
I also love the controls, reminds me of Bret Vistors interactive document examples.
This could be a chance to skip JS altogether.
Especially after the impact that Minecraft has, my impression is that creating games is your best bet to create new ways of story telling and user interactions. My feeling is that we didn't even scratch the surface of what is possible.
ALBATROSS gave me the chills.
Real instruments of course include computers these days, as long as people are interacting with it (i.e. 'playing')
I for one will support her indiegogo project which is here: http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/let-s-help-ashana-go-to-co...
Considering the top story here right now it may be ok if we just nod, put two thumbs up and support this with real money.
We would support her and her awesome friend, and teach other consultants (sic!) and/or ordinary people to make a difference.
Out of the same notion I am doing a series of video tutorials on how to create browser games for my 14 year old girl and her classmates.
It's also in english so as a side effect they get into that as well.
Regarding the missing collisions: ThreeJS focuses on the 3D part of a game engine only. If you want collisions, you need to add a physic engine.
There's a couple of them out there - I would recommend CannonJS and there is a working ThreeJS FPS with WASD and collisions here: https://web3dblog.wordpress.com/2013/01/07/source-code-of-th...
