Maybe they agree? Like the majority of the voters?
> With React and TypeScript, it’s like being in the middle of a megapolis: there are many, many things that are possible, but it’s noisy and overwhelming.
I love the ecosystem. There are hundreds of headless component libraries, amazing new tools (Tanstack start), but I keep forgetting how much friction there is when working on a fullstack JS/TS project.
I find credo much more pleasant than eslint. Especially the eslint 9 upgrade was very annoying. I also get annoyed when I have to combine eslint and prettier on a new project for example. Frameworks work nicely, until they break (remix + multitenancy, adonisjs with graphql, nextjs with anything).
Elixir is simpler, much compact, but it's not better. The javascript ecosystem is a victim of its success.

I wouldn't buy this btw. People like big dashboards, it's a vanity metric.
Working from the office or the home is fine. They have both their strengths and you can build on them. Doing both, it's just suboptimal.
I have worked with this model, and it's the most frustrating thing having to go to the office, only to be stuck in Zoom calls, because some people are away.
1. Enum & list comprehensions 2. `error`, `throw`, `exit` . Try/catch, try/rescue 3. `import`, `require`, `use`
I mean there are subtle differences, just like with JavaScript. so..?
If anything, Javascript doesn't have the luxury to do a breaking change.
It will be used by highschoolers for the quick win, removing the friction to do the work and gain something.
Ultimately everyone wants to pass the test and move on, no matter the age.
I'm reading up Elixir/Phoenix to spice things up though.
Edit: I'm a bit triggered. I don't get how this trivial example showcases anything. You always use types. They are either written down or in your mind. Unfortunately, collaboration happens, and I'm not in your mind.
Try working as a contractor, building apps for companies, and then you'll see actual opportunities and missed chances.
You'll have to go all-in at some point, there's no other way, which poses its dangers. You now rely on the GH repos/changelogs, their discord for support, etc.
Having worked on a FP-TS app, and with Effect-ts on pet projects, I love the paradigm but I can't help but feel I'm always playing catch-up.
