I had a lot of years with Comma AI before. There's no other consumer system on the planet that is close to FSD. lane assist's and adaptive cruise control are getting better with legacy manufacturers but they're still so far off.
> My Model 3 with FSD constantly has problems going from A to B without interventio
I mean my daily drives say otherwise. Are you on HW3 or 4?
It's incredibly far away from doing any significant change in a mature codebase. In fact I've become so bearish on the technology trying to use it for this, I'm thinking there's going to have to be some other breakthrough or something other than LLM's. It just doesn't feel right around the corner. Now completing small chunks of mundane code, explaining code, doing very small mundane changes. Very good at.
Composer can be hit or miss, but I've found it really good at game programming.
That's how it feels in FSD land right now. Everyone's saying FSD doesn't work and it'll never be here, but I'm literally using it every day lol.
If you treat the car like it's a student driver or someone else driving, disengagements will go do. If you treat it like you're driving there's also something to complain about.
Societal pressures can be challenging but it's really not that bad. We ate out quite a bit because of birthdays and such. If you're at a nice restaurant, get a steak and a low-carb vegetable. At Ruth's Chris we did Tomahawk steak with mushrooms. Drink club soda with lime or lemon. Chipotle is a good meal. Chicken steak, guac, cheese, salsa (check their site)
Wingstop was also goto for us. They have quite a few sauces that have no carbs. Eating out is planning. Check the menu; if it's not a chain, you might have to call. We did that a few times. Ask if they put sugar in certain things. Burger with bacon and cheese no bun is also an option. You have to be careful with chicken dishes because they might put a sauce on it.
Remember, it's low-carb, not no-carb, so if you accidentally eat a few pieces of bacon with sugar in it, it's not the end of the world. It's probably not going to be enough to kick you out.
Eating out isn't as bad as you think when in that position. Get a steak with some low-carb vegetables on the side. You can still have blackberries and raspberries and if you really need to "cheat" you can find some deserts that are no carb. Although best to limit those types of sugars. Use an app / website to track carbs for the first few months.
Just remember you're either in ketosis or not. There's no such thing as a "cheat" day on Keto as going over carb amount can kick you out.
Obviously, FSD is way ahead of e2e open pilot with navigation, but since Open Pilot can apply very little torque to the wheel, it can't do anything gnarly. I actually trust Open pilot more at this point but I guess I just need more time with FSD. Some of that is because longitude was Toyota controlled until I used the e2e longitude model more.
Even on "chill" mode, FSD will make random quick lane changes to turn only lanes to try to get around traffic. This is 12.5.2. Even so FSD can get me from point A to B with no interventions 98% of the time.
