dhaivatpandya··on Functional programming explained properly
Thanks for the feedback!

That was a slight "oops", sorry :)

dhaivatpandya··on Functional programming explained properly
I refrained from saying this, because this isn't always true, and as graph reduction processors slowly get introduced, this is going away.
dhaivatpandya··on Reuters totally clueless about the meaning of "hacking"
Wow. Just wow.

dhaivatpandya··on NimbleNotes: write more productively (feedback please)
Thanks for feedback!

The video is a bit old now, and I did work to clear it up a bit. The weirdo "old west" style font is gone (replaced by helvetica), and the actual writing is in Georgia, with proper line spacing.

There are also several themes, from which you can choose.

Again, thanks a ton for the feedback!

dhaivatpandya··on Ask HN: What are your favorite fonts?
I like Helvetica.
dhaivatpandya··on Javascript coding error - lesson learned
Exactly. Or, you could just use your server side language to stuff the server's date onto the template.

Nice! You'd probably like my series of posts (named similarly): http://poincare101.blogspot.com/2012/01/hi-hopefully-you-rea...

If the modulus isn't prime, we can split it apart into two, much simpler modular equations, which is part of the reason WHY its so hard to come up with a good algorithm, and the other half is what you said.

I really like that book.

Its not where I first learned abstract algebra, but, its an excellent resource.

dhaivatpandya··on Abstract Algebra for developers - Cryptography
Yeah, that's true. :)

Windows. Which makes everything a bit worse.

Thanks :)
dhaivatpandya··on Design for a developer?
Oh, I also wanted to mention, I don't have Photoshop, and that makes learning even harder.
dhaivatpandya··on Ask HN: Startup name conflict
The last remark basically killed it.

dhaivatpandya··on Indian Railways stations, trains and schedules database in JSON and SQL formats
Maybe someone can write a wrapper around the indian train schedule website then, because it sucks.

I agree with tonyarkles.
dhaivatpandya··on Show HN: Use Dojo to learn, build, and deploy web apps
I think that's the shittiest argument I've ever seen.

You didn't even open the link before just leaving a negative comment about it.

It takes a lot of work to write web apps, and when people say negative things about them, it hurts.

dhaivatpandya··on Show HN: Use Dojo to learn, build, and deploy web apps
I LOVE IT!
dhaivatpandya··on Abstract algebra for developers and people who hate math
Well, that's only if you're competing with other people that are in wheelchairs, when you're a programmer you're competing with everyone :P
dhaivatpandya··on Abstract algebra for developers and people who hate math
Hmmm... maybe I'll have slides AND text?
dhaivatpandya··on Abstract algebra for developers and people who hate math
The thing is, to make any advances in mathematics (since it is such an old subject with large advancements and abstractions already made), you can't really make much progress in math per se, but, it really gives you a much better understanding how things like classes and type systems work, and in general makes you a better programmer.

I will present more applications and such in the next one.

If you tell me what's wrong with the formatting and grammar, I'll try my best to fix them for the next time.
