denysonique··on RedScript – like CoffeeScript, in Ruby
Does Opal support Native to an extent to allow me to use it with existing libraries such as Backbone without the need of writing extensive wrappers? Opal is an awesome project, but the last time when I looked at it using JS libraries with it wasn't trivial.
denysonique··on No more CSS and HTML, just JS
I see this useful for writing UserScripts/browser extensions.
denysonique··on Introducing the Qt WebEngine
Their future releases may be based on Qt::WebEngine instead of Qt::WebKit
denysonique··on Converting an existing Backbone.js project to Require.js
To Ruby on Rails users I recommend the requirejs-rails Gem -- it automatically integrates RequireJS with the asset pipline. It can also server templates in AMD compatible format instead of throwing them into the JST[] Array.
denysonique··on Converting an existing Backbone.js project to Require.js
One of the benefits of RequireJS is runtime script loading. You can configure RequireJS to exclude some rarely used functionality/file from the minified asset build -- The extra file will only be fetched when needed.
denysonique··on The $80 web development workstation
The trackpoint is like Vim. At first you find it inconvenient and you try to avoid it. Once you learn it and start being proficient in using the trackpoint you start noticing how efficient it becomes, no need to move you hands of the keyboard in order to quickly navigate the cursor, after which you quickly return to typing. Now you have gotten used to the trackpoint and using another machine without a trackpoint gives you that 'I want to navigate the red cap' feeling, which is the same as being in a non Vim text editor and stopping yourself from using the hjkl keys from navigating.

denysonique··on Ruby hacking guide
Doesn't mention how @@ is evil. @@ are not your usual class variables. @@ should be avoided in most programs.
denysonique··on Mailinator has a new design
The most convenient old way of quickly accessing an inbox was inbox_nickname.mailinator.com -- this still works today.
denysonique··on MIT Researchers: Printable Keys Make Mechanical Locks Insecure
That website has a memory leak. I left it open for about 10-15min and it ate 2GB of my ram.
denysonique··on 'Crack baby' study ends with unexpected but clear result
Whats the TLDR of the article?
denysonique··on Opera 15 released
The UI of Opera 12.5 on Linux is way faster than the UI of Chrome, Firefox. Tab opening for example is significantly faster. Back, Forward buttons also provide faster results. See it for yourself.
denysonique··on NixOS - Declarative configuration OS

denysonique··on Ubuntu low-memory install for VMs
Gentoo Linux to the rescue.
denysonique··on Chess CAPTCHA
I don't see there any need for a change

  Black plays; checkmate in one!
This is the most obvious form for chess players; universally used throughout many chess quiz books.
denysonique··on How Search Works
Some of the live listed 'spam' pages appear to be genuine to me.
denysonique··on Why is BIND 10 written in C++ and Python?
Why isn't it written in Node.js?
denysonique··on Emblem.js: concise, indented alternative templating language for Handlebars.js
Before I had to make my own jade-handlebars Meteor package. I hope that someone will quickly make a Emblem.js package for Meteor.

For a Class based approach -- CoffeeScript
denysonique··on One div – The single element HTML/CSS icon database
Bug: Some icons break when browser-zooming.
denysonique··on The impending crisis that is Windows XP and IE 8
Windows XP boots faster and is snappier than Windows 7.

It's lightweight-ness makes it the best choice for a VM guest as well as its small post install size.

Windows XP post installation base size is 1.5GB, Windows 7's is 15GB -- this makes XP more suitable for image deployed environments.

denysonique··on How I Hacked Facebook’s Secure Files Transfer Service for Employees
