denisw··on LoadJS – A tiny async loader for modern browsers (710 bytes)
This will wait within the function, but won't block the caller.
denisw··on Visual Studio Code is now open source
They acutally demoed Go debugging in the Connect conference keynote today [1], together with the open-source announcement. It has been implemented as part of an extension written by someone inside of Microsoft, if I remember correctly (support for extensions was also announced).

denisw··on Bash process substitution
A good use case is to redirect output into a file you only can modify with sudo. Trying to do it like this doesn't work:

  sudo echo "fs.inotify.max_user_watches=1000000" > /etc/sysctl.conf
as the redirection happens within the shell, thus without root permissions. However, the following does work:

  echo "fs.inotify.max_user_watches=1000000" | sudo tee /etc/sysctl.conf
as the writing is done by the elevated tee process.
denisw··on IO.js – Evented I/O for V8 javascript
Looking at the v0.12 branches of both iojs/iojs and joyent/node, it doesn't seem to me that idutny's latest commit (updating OpenSSL to 1.0.1j) was a commit to Node proper. I also can't find that commit in any other branch of Node, or on idutny's personal copy of Node (idutny/node).

In fact, the history of Node and IO.js seem to completely diverge after Nov 21, with no overlap between the commits or contributors. To me, this seems to clearly indicate that the committors in these last IO.js commits are also the people behind that effort. Am I missing something?

Since 8.1, you can actually search without going fullscreen by pressing Win+S, which reveals a search sidebar on the right side without bringing up the start screen.
