Mine is Shazam for images. It identifies images you see anywhere and reveals their story. Mine is a vibrant community of visual archeologists, photographers, and collectors with a common goal of permanently indexing the visual history of the world.

We are a small, ambitious team based in Brooklyn with recent backing from top-tier VCs in New York and Silicon Valley.

See our blog post about the Canonical Content Registry: http://blog.mine.nyc/canonical-content-registry/

We are most prominently looking for a full-stack engineer to architect our API (mostly in Rails, but we have some microservices in Go and Scala).

Mine enables persistent attribution and metadata for digital images. We aim to do for digital media what Bitcoin did for money, that is, for creators to own their digital media and for consumers to interact with it with no middle man. We are creating tools for creators to claim ownership of their digital works, and for consumers to easily discover them. We are a small, ambitious team based in Brooklyn with recent backing from top-tier VCs in New York and Silicon Valley.

denisnazarov··on Joker – Torrents to streamable video
A free seedbox with no login barrier is unscalable for many reasons. Its neat, but I would rather see everyone who thinks this is interesting contribute to the Webtorrent project, which strives to make being a torrent node as easy as visiting a URL, using WebRTC as the data channel.

This is not actually p2p. Check out https://github.com/feross/webtorrent. Hoping to hear feross' input.

This is the content ID problem we are trying to solve with Mine: http://www.minefile.info. We want to allow consumers to be able to discover original creators regardless of where content is consumed or reused using perceptual hashing and the blockchain.

Thanks for your comment.

1. We chose twitter as the ID layer for our MVP because we think a lot of the creators for who we think Mine will be very valuable have a prominent twitter presence. It was also the easiest to implement in the MVP as an end-to-end example of tying a fingerprint to an identity, and then later being able to recover the identity where the file is consumed. Twitter is also a semi-trusted entity because of its scale, so you can be relatively confident that a creator was the first to claim their fingerprint on twitter. With that said, we strongly believe in the ID layer of Mine being decentralized as well, and envision the future service similar to a Bitcoin wallet, but for file hashes. The public keys will represent the many digital pseudonyms you may choose to have, and files on your hard drive or mobile device will be automatically fingerprinted and embedded in the blockchain.

2. We store the metadata of the fingerprint and the corresponding transaction so you can easily retrieve it whenever you want by submitting the original file again. You can also store the json output yourself, and it has all the information necessary to trace the fringerprint's location in the blockchain. If Mine ceases to exist for whatever reason, all of the "truth" is permanently in the blockchain and the proof json is all you need to verify.

What are some resources/guides to design in a Dribbble style? There is obviously a consistent aesthetic (effects, shadows, etc.)
