“The lake is not burning” is my favorite way to describe Switzerland when it comes to software and startups. And everything else, in fact.
The whole problem was that the account number was too long. No error messages anywhere. Fidelity also has a 13-digit account number version that I've been using ever since.
What a mess.
The strongest slide is the team, which includes 2 PhDs, and an MIT research scientist.

I would recommend it.
Disclaimer, I work for AWS. At some point there's just too many of these data streams, so a warehouse no longer does it and we turn to data lakes. The advanced version of what the OP is trying to achieve, without any actual manual work, could be an AI, and be called Lake Formation, https://aws.amazon.com/lake-formation.

Facebook being “the past” played an equal role to “Facebook being evil” in my decision.
If they do too much random OSS to a point where it prevents them from achieving your business goals, you can terminate them.
This work should be part of your total, main, comp. Working on open-source projects directly contributes to your employer's business, even if the code of that project doesn't get used in those systems. You're building your team's brand (and yes, your own, too). Because other Engineers want to work in an environment where OSS is encouraged, this reduces costs of hiring and retaining Engineers. At $20/hr Formidable is getting recruiting on the cheap.
The Github website and its fork/pull request flow has increased my productivity and the amount of things I contribute to or can maintain with some level of sanity 100x easily.
My biggest feature request in this space is around address book and inviting new people to a larger event. I want something that can, for example, check my email or other contacts and surface anyone I've been connected with since the last party.
Btw, I no longer have a facebook account and only held on to it for events, until I didn't. Now when I don't get invited to events personally I just think it wasn't worth it in the first place. Haven't tried the site for an invite yet, will do my next one on it. Been using paperlesspost. It's fine.
A couple of things I wanted to highlight that are not in the article and should have been.
- Pay attention to how Microsoft has used open-source to turn things around in terms of developer credibility.
- Becoming open-source by default can still be an advantage as 99% of companies don't do it. It can still fix your hiring pipeline, but that advantage won't last as it's becoming more mainstream.
