No, I don't think so. Maybe I'm a bit paranoid but I tend to avoid software from Chinese companies because of all recent stories of a apps stealing/sending data that they don't necessarily need to function. But I suppose software from any country could do the same thing though...

darkmuck··on Why we challenge Microsoft’s battery test

Now that Opera Software is owned by a Chinese company I've avoided their browser anyways, regardless of potential battery/performance benefits.

darkmuck··on Ask HN: How do you take notes other than using paper?

I use a combination of methods. For notes that I want to keep and reference later I use Google Drive docs because it provides reasonably advanced formatting tools, ability to insert images, and has tools to export in multiple formats. For short or temporary notes and lists I tend to use Google Keep. I like these two tools because they are available on and sync with my phone.

There really needs to be a bulk export feature

I don't think my body handles Melatonin very well... it definitely helps me sleep great! But the next day I am groggy for nearly half the entire day

this would likely be extremely slow, but what about doing some form of TCP/IP via SMS, thereby using SMS as a "real" data connection
