ASUS N56 for me. Everything except the sub-woofer worked immediately and that was an easy fix. Awesome sound, great keyboard, pretty good to look at, good screen and touchpad. Downside is that it's a little heavier but that doesn't bother me at all. Had the N72 17" version too and it was also great.
Personally, I don't think Windows 8, OSX, or Ubuntu look nice out the box. They're all pretty average, but I think Ubuntu defaults with the overall look and feel is the most pleasant. The Unity sidebar and blurred glass search background is much better looking than the boring startmenu/metro or tacky faux 3d launcher and grey gradients all over the place. Granted, it's been a while since I have seen the default.
Yeah, I really don't understand why this OSX monopoly on "just works" still persists. A plain old Ubuntu install just works, lots of Linux distros do, but if you want the additional customisation, it's there.
They're doing a series on places trying to replicate the success of the valley, so it's understandable although quite unimaginatively titled for each piece. I presume there will be a program dedicated to comparing them all once the series concludes.
Would you mind giving me an email regarding the up sell on SIM cards? Got something quite interesting coming up in the EU that may be of interest to you. Email's on my profile.
Do you see being independent of Airbnb as a value add in that even if they did "move up the stack" so to speak and copy you users would still prefer you as they are posting to multiple rental platforms?
60 quid sounds very reasonable for that service. Getting someone over there to wait until they turn up and getting cleaners in and out quickly would be impressive for that price.
Power users who also disproportionately post on forums about things they dislike seem to dislike it but I'd bet there are a lot of normal users quietly getting on with it.
It's smart to be conservative, in my opinion. Although technology is developing at an ever faster pace many people still overestimate what will be done within decades. There are surprisingly few accurate predictions from 30 years ago and most of them then thought we'd be a lot further than we are.
Every new currency has to go through that. That's unavoidable for a small, relatively new currency. With every boom and smaller bust it grows larger and more stable.
Just for the record, there are plenty of us that are anti-EU and welcoming of immigration. There are plenty of non-bigoted reasons to dislike the European Union.
