I started to build IndieLog (formerly Lonely Dev) since the lockdown to fix my own problem. The other project Backlogs is like a by-product while building IndieLog.

I never did something like this, putting myself in the public. It sounds scary. Indeed it was in the beginning, but it's an incredible journey so far!

I know people will ask this question :)

I have considered Canny honestly. Great product, awesome founders!

But the pricing is not that friendly for bootstrappers like me. Backlogs offers generous free plan for developers, which we all like. So pro plan, the pricing is flat $29/mo (billed yearly), no tracking users and usage.

All essential features will be included in the free plan as well, like collecting feedback, roadmap, changelog, dashboard, email notification, etc.

Integration wise, Canny did a good job on third-party apps integration, which right now we don't have any, but we will add more in future.

Hi raybb, glad to hear you like it! A few months ago, I was building a community indielog.com. I received lots of feedback (feature/bug). They went into my email, twitter DMs, etc. I just thought it would be nicer to have a single place managing them all, so I built Backlogs.

Hmm, it's only for my community lonely.dev. No plan to modularize it to sell, it is just a fancy tool to serve our community better so that people can send more personalized responses, and have more human interactions.

Our community has some bars in order to submit new videos or send video replies. Right now most of our members are with high fidelity. But you are right, as time goes, and community becomes bigger, we do need to spend time on moderating. I will put it on my top list!!! Thanks!

Hey, this is Damon, initiator of Lonely Dev here! This community was born in the quarantine period of Covid-19. Lots of people are working from home. Previous IRL social interactions are gone temporarily. That makes me to build a community where you can share your day in a short video, also see each other, help each other just like a family.
