cvburgess··on Show HN: I made 30 apps this year and I'm 15
While these apps are impressive for a 15 year old developer they are not really "high-quality" titles... yet MSFT allowed 30 of these games into the store by the same developer. If I were MSFT, I would've thrown a red flag up if not for QA, for potential spam.

Great work and keep it up, OP! I wouldn't worry about co-founders just yet. Keep hacking till you find something you are really passionate about and a co-founder will join you when and if the time is right (probably a t least 3 years down the road for legal reasons)

cvburgess··on Build a Christmas List with Martini
Thanks for the Revel/Express comparison, do you have any links to support that claim?
cvburgess··on Tell HN: How we bootstrapped to the #1 rated mattress on Amazon.com
Covers are great (I have and use one) because they keep sweat and dirt out (which kill mattresses the fastest) but they do not prevent the mattress itself from deteriorating due to constant weight.
cvburgess··on Build a Christmas List with Martini
Does anyone have any comparisons of Martini and Flask/Bottle or Sinatra? It would be interesting to compare performance, library support, and syntax of these (seemingly similar) micro-frameworks.
cvburgess··on Show HN: Hosted Docker-as-a-Service on SSDs for $5
Thanks! This is just what I was looking for.
cvburgess··on Show HN: Hosted Docker-as-a-Service on SSDs for $5
This is fantastic!

Does anyone know where DO servers are located?

cvburgess··on Web Framework Benchmarks Round 7
I use bottle in production and it's fantastic.

I'm curious to see what happens to performance when v.12 is released.

cvburgess··on Soylent: Manufacturing Update
I totally second this.

Customizable "meals" based on your activity level, age, and weight goals (among other factors) should be a goal for the Soylent team down the road.

cvburgess··on It's Time to Say Goodbye
I find it odd that they would announce a shutdown today, yet they do not have a tool to migrate data for another 2 weeks.
cvburgess··on Sustainability and the Mac App Store
I think this applies to more than just (Mac) apps. Coupon codes, flash sales, and other deep discounts have a tendency to trigger buyers remorse at checkout.

I was fine paying $ X until I found out that I could have paid 50% less last week. Now, if I buy your product, I feel like the only idiot that paid full price - a price I was happy to pay 5 minutes ago.

If you aren't able to sell at your current price point, you should evaluate why and either fix the issue or lower your price (permanently) to match what users are willing to pay for it.

cvburgess··on Researchers find critical vulnerabilities in Yahoo site, offered $12.50 per bug
The comments [1] from a similar article [2] discussed the merits of this rather thoroughly.

cvburgess··on A 3D printed toothbrush for all your teeth
They are not "new" - they are simply cleaned and resealed in packaging.

It would be crazy expensive to only use these instruments once.

cvburgess··on PayPal Acquires Braintree for $800M
Although I am sticking with Stripe, I hope that they leverage features like Venmo with PayPal's (rather large) user base - mobile payments are terrible as it stands.

It'll be interesting to see if large partners (GitHub, AirBnB, etc) stay onboard through the transition or if they are coerced by competitors.

cvburgess··on Apple Developer Center still down
I would hope a multi-billion dollar developer portal has a backup somewhere. It'd be insane if they didn't.
cvburgess··on Xeround discontinuing cloud DB service
Same here. Just paid my bill yesterday, and was told today I have 2 weeks to pack up and move elsewhere. I wish I would've gotten more notice.

On a related note, any suggestions for DBaaS?

cvburgess··on Bughub: A native Github Issues client for Mac and iPad
Great looking app, but unfortunately it does not seem to support organizations. This is a huge issue for me, personally.

Are there any plans for org support in the future?

cvburgess··on Ask HN: What would you use a Print API for?
All great ideas - perfect use case for a flexible api
cvburgess··on Ask HN: What would you use a Print API for?
Nice, but seems too limited and poorly documented for me personally.
cvburgess··on Ask HN: What would you use a Print API for?
This looks like a great solution, thanks for the share!
