cung··on Reddit’s About page doesn't include Aaron Swartz as a founder
It seems to me that the same thing that happened to Reddit is happening to Hacker News now.

I've seen an uptick of misleading titles, which make you question what is real.

Another trend I've noticed is an increase in pro-drug/pro-medication posts, which aim to frame life's challenges as something that need medication.

cung··on They're deleting my channel, but they don't know why? [video]
I feel like this is the problem. The content creators and users don’t matter as they aren’t the customers.
cung··on Beef Fat Prevents Alcoholic Liver Disease in the Rat
I’m pretty sure this is happening due to the omega fat ratio. Corn oil is just omega-6, which is bad for you alone. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ratio_of_fatty_acids_in_differ...

Beef fat might be neutral in terms of ALD, as it doesn’t contain any polyunsaturated fat.

cung··on Former CEO of RadioShack now an ER doctor on frontlines of Covid-19 fight
Doctors kids become doctors and doctors are well paid.

This is anecdotal, but my elementary school class was full of doctors kids and I can tell you that the doctor parents would almost disown their kid if they didn't get into medical school. Doctors seem to have a very strong opinion on the medical field being the only right option.

So in that sense it's more of a correlation with money, and a causation through inheritance.

cung··on Verizon to Sell Tumblr to Automattic
Tumblr was censored to drive traffic to Reddit and Twitter, which creates a more centralized crowd. The decision to censor Tumblr makes absolutely no business sense for tumblr, which means the main motivator is something else.
cung··on Learning to Love the AI Bubble
Thank you Chris! Seemed like a super effective course on a glance. Will be looking through this!
cung··on High-Tech can’t last: there are limited essential elements
Just read about Julian Simon's book, "The Ultimate Resource 2 (1997)", in which he argues that the world will never run out of resources, as it is the human mind that drives advance, not capital or materials. In other words, just as Marcus_Holmes argued, supply and demand will make more expensive processes feasible and provide new sources if essential elements.
