creaktive··on Chromatone – Visual Music Language
I get it why this analogy is so tempting. If we consider the visible wavelengths being from 380nm to 780nm, that’s almost precisely one octave. If we could see the “ultraviolet octave”, and/or the “infrared octave”, would it resemble a rainbow? Would be neat if it did. When I was a kid, I wondered if violet and red were actually the same color, somehow. To me personally it feels like red and violet have much more in common than blue and green, for instance.

Coincidentally, I used almost the exact same palette for my own project that overlays a spectrogram on a piano keyboard

creaktive··on The case against morning yoga, daily routines, and endless meetings
Right. As usual, YMMV. Routines are an absolute necessity to stay grounded for those of us who are naturally unhinged enough to be unable to snap out of their 100x streaks. But, sadly, cargo cult is a thing. When people see 100x performance, they associate it with whatever outbound behaviors of the high performer. Alas, it’s usually a coping mechanism, not the source of prosperity.
creaktive··on As Lovely as a Tree
The real beauty lies in the SLOW discrete Fourier transform. Such simplicity; but what’s really going on there? Highly recommend grokking DST for the transcendental beauty.
creaktive··on As Lovely as a Tree
Discrete Fourier Transform alone is transcendental, IMHO.
creaktive··on Ask HN: Widespread Apathy?
I blame the enshittification of the Internet. So many of us work with the Internet. And seeing it turning into a pile of garbage is soulcrushing.
creaktive··on Show HN: Openkoda – Open–source, private, Salesforce alternative
Salesforce is customized in something called Apex, which is a dialect of Java. Would make migration/integration more convenient

I was just complaining to my partner about the OG Salesforce… I feel extra inspired to check this out!

Essentially, my project implements only the very first step of what's described in the article: turning sound into a picture. Separating instruments is very complicated. Even recognizing chords is a challenge. Nevertheless, my code does visualize multiple instruments; it just does not "know" what it is displaying.
