I was greatly impressed with Moritz Stefaner's Nobel Prize winners list when I first saw it and since then I was inspired to build something similar. I finally got around to building a site that allows you to browse information on Movies and Actors in a manner similar to that of the original.
It certainly is not as refined as my original inspiration, but, it is a starting point for me. I hope you like it and find it useful when you need information on an Actor or Movie.
Also, if you are interested in adding/updating the Movie/Actor info, please let me know here. I will e-mail you the admin access details.
Thanks, K7.
Also, I was able vote multiple times for the same example (went from -3 to 3).
IUI is good, but, the only problem that I have been having is that it doesn't retain browsing history after I visit an external link.
There are some other good libraries that can be used for HN. Please have a look at this: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/215390/available-iphone-w...
I love HN and the community and still read a lot of interesting stuff here, but, I am beginning to feel that HN is slowly slipping away to be a site that also has a few genuine and invigorating posts/discussions about entrepreneurship and programming.
I created a bookmark app (very raw), that orders my bookmarks based on the time they were save and it is tremendously useful.(the url for the bookmarker is public and is http://www.trk7.com/install/xxx.php (click on the calendar tab), just in case u want to check)
I am very enthusiastic about Social search and even built one (with the same commenting, voting features).
Wikia is doing the same, so, nothing new about this for people like me, but, feels great to know that Google is atleast 'experimenting' with social search.
I dislike the fact that Apple has considerable (compltete?) control over the distribution of an iPhone app and even charges the developer for doing so.Frigging unbelivable!
If the books suggested by you and authored by those two are easy to grasp as their talk/other book, I would definitely buy them.
